We went there to shop! We were disappointed, most of the shops were empty and the ones that were left opened at all different times. There were lots of people, the fast food outlets were open, we had a hot chocolate at san churros and left. If you want to shop then go to the Spencer St Outlet Centre at the Southern Cross Station.

I visited the district to get ice cream and go to artvo. we got there a bit tto early ( 1 hour early) and decided to go look. 90% of the plots were empty and not really worth it i would say. a few good places but overall without the Melbourne star its kind of lost its purpose in it. i would say if you are going to go though you must get the ice cream and go to artvo its around the only good things youll get there.

Worst shopping experience, not worth to visit. Stick to CBD is enough as this complex keep some businesses who offer worst customer services.I can’t see any hope for improvement and such a boring place. Will never step in. Avoid here, waste of your time. So many attractive places within Melbourne.

The Docklands area was a very pleasant and relaxing experience.
It offers a wide selection of excellent food and drink outlets on the waterfront, both large and small.
Easy access is available via the fabulous Melbourne tram system.
It contains an absolutely enormous DFO that could keep most shoppers happy for days on end and the piece de résistance is the cafe inside what we think was the Convention Centre, apologies if we got the name wrong.
It’s situated inside the Docklands on entry to the area and serves amongst the most yummy pizza slices and coffees plus yummy sweets we didn’t have room for ( unfortunately ) but we’ll be back, and the staff were a delightful bunch.

We visited to go to Artvo within the shopping centre. We thought the kids could get some shopping in afterwards. There was lots of empty shops and not a great variety.

During CoVid times it is great to be able to shop in an indoor/ outdoor environment. Standout stores are Souvenirs Direct (much more than just a souvenir type shop you would see in the CBD) and Toy World. There is also a great bookstore. For food, all the usual options but I rate Gourmet Deli the best. The Woolworths here is amongst the best I have shopped at in Melbourne. I discovered The District when I was there for a function at Urban Alley Brewery/ Archie Brothers and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I can see this place will be awesome when completed.

The big wheel has closed for good and the retail shops are still in Covid lockdown. The area seems deserted, but some food shops are open and there is some seating. Retail lockdown ends in a week or two, but some shops have closed forever.

A close but no cigar. It looks the part; very similar (or even a carbon copy you might say) to Pacific Fair Shopping Mall in Broadbeach in that it’s a mix of indoor/outdoor shopping experience. When I came it seemed that the only store that was receiving a lot of foot traffic was Costco; the rest of the shops were sadly & eerily quiet.

The biggest disappointment about this place is that besides the indoor/outdoor concept, there’s nothing here that stands out. Every store here is done better somewhere else. It’s not easy to get to, they really should just give away free parking to entice customers and lastly the atmosphere and overall vibe is dead.

Hi, thank you for reviewing our precinct. We are very fortunate to still be able to offer our customers great brands including BONDS, HypeDC, H&M, UNIQLO, Cotton On and Skechers just to name a few. We also have plenty of dining options to choose from with a variety of cuisines including Japanese, Chinese, Greek, pub offer, burgers, pizza and more. Our locals are spoilt for choice with the fresh food precinct Market Lane offering great fresh food options. The District is growing. We are continuing to make improvements to the precinct with the installation of new escalator in the entertainment precinct and further weather proofing with new roof installation. We look forward to more positive changes in the future and hope you will visit us again. Thank you

Located at the base of the Melbourne Star is this shopping centre. It is quite open and bright, even on a cloudy day, as large portions of the roof are glass. I would say the pandemic has had a negative effect as there are a few empty spaces and parts are under refurbishment. Still a nice spot.

Plenty of choices for eating. Great attractions if going for them. Easy to drive to with heaps of parking. However if going to 'shop' I suggest getting the free tram from out the front and heading into the CBD. So many empty shops here, it is depressing.........
