Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

My wife and I did the Mad Scientist room. We are moderate experienced with escape rooms (~15 rooms under our belt) and completed the room with about 13 minutes to spare and no hints. So I think this is a good beginner to intermediate room if you want a challenge.

The puzzles were really well done with some of them requiring you conduct scientific experiments to solve the problems. This was a unique touch compared to other rooms we have done.

The puzzles lacked depth but made it for it in quantity. What I mean by this is solving 1 puzzle have you the combination to a lock opposed to solving three puzzles to get that combination. This was balanced out by the fact that most locked items had multiple padlocks.

In summary would highly recommend this room. I think beginners will find it challenging and I think experienced players will enjoy the uniqueness of the puzzles and methods you have to use to get through.

We cam with a group of 4 and did the Black Queen room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This room was quite dark which made it challenging to see the numbers on the locks but it made sense because some of the clues use light in very clever ways. Still if you are vision impaired you might find it quite challenging. Definitely bring a torch!

Unfortunately one clue also relied on hearing a music note and being able to work out what the note was which was just impossible for us as we have hearing impairment in our family so that was a struggle until we got a hint and were just able to guess the codeword.

Overall most of the clues were really well done and we managed to escape with a few minutes to spare.

The setting and theme of the room was really good but I would liked to have had a bit more story to it. Who is the Black Queen? What is actually going on in this castle? We will never know. :(

They say only 30% of people manage to escape but that seems very low. I think a lot more people escape then they are letting on to make people feel clever. :)

We did the mad scientist as our first ever escape room. We were so close- 5 more minutes and we would have escaped! It’s started a new addiction, we will be back!

A cracking fun challenge for myself and two lads (14, 11yrs). Mad scientist perfectly pitched for this age group and if anything, I was the weakest link!!!

Five of us in a family group, from ages 16 to mid fifties had a blast at the adventure escape rooms in Melbourne. We have all done a few escape rooms previously and found this to be quite enjoyable, lots of logic puzzles to keep you guessing, and given that we escaped with only 90 sec left on the clock, it was just about right.
Will definitely be back to try another

The Black Queen room was great. The room encouraged us to use our mind creatively, having to use all our sensory skills. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. While the clues they gave were only as necessary and very helpful when frustration sets in. One of the best escape rooms we have done!

Loved this experience. Our first escape room and we will definitely do it again. We chose the Black Queen and it was really hard. Fun for teens and parents.
