We had a private tour with Simon and really enjoyed our day, ultimately changing course mid day to suit our needs. Simon was great at listening to what we wanted and we booked the tour to be open in itinerary as we first wanted to see what we enjoyed in other parts of Australia first. Mark booked it with a base fee and we would pay entrance fees to whatever we chose along the way, the perfect solution to our indecision before arrival! Our ship was docked in Geelong.

We started in Brighten Beach (an hour or so drive from Geelong) and saw the beautiful boxes and then went on to Melbourne (20 minute drive) and enjoyed a bit of the city. The highlight was definitely the market. I could have spent much of the day here if we had time! We did hit the street graffiti streets and they were a disappointment, which of course was not our guide’s fault, but the fault of the taggers who have stopped allowing the beautiful street art to stay for a bit (I would skip this stop).

Our desire to see kangaroos was high so first we hit a park where they were known to be and saw some and even a Joey. Still wanting more, we headed to the Anglesea Golf course (around an hour, mostly towards the port), where around 200 wild Kangaroos roam as people play golf. We got there as the tours had stopped at 4pm, but the nice lady allowed us to get one anyway. For $20, we got on a golf cart and off we went to see Roos, many with their Joeys in toe. It was great fun and the highlight of our day! So glad we did this stop, but be sure to make a reservation or arrive within their tour times to ensure to avoid disappointment!

We utilized Mark for a private wine tour of the Yarra Valley and it was wonderful. He has a clean comfortable car and offered a multitude of great Australian history and fun tips to share along the way. We were able to customize our day in advance with various wineries and an animal sanctuary tour. He was also very flexible when we asked last minute to visit an additional location on the way and helped incorporate it into the itinerary..

All of the stops and overall drive were delightful. Mark even had great tourist tips to offer us for the particular area of town we were staying in. We highly recommend Mark and his services for anyone traveling to Melbourne looking to explore and learn more about this beautiful city.

Thank you Tricia for the great review of the Yarra Valley Tour combined with Healesville Sanctuary. Between the aussie animals at the sanctuary and the renown wines & food of the Yarra Valley, its easy to see why overseas guests fall in love with this region. Thank you for taking the time to write this review from the States. Appreciate it. Thanks again Mark & the Team.

My family and I were visiting Melbourne for a short time. I got in contact with Marks Tours and Mark made the perfect tour itineraries for our families wants and needs. We ended up booking two full days of tours, and had an amazing experience with both Mark himself for one day and another day with his colleague, Peter. Both were exceptional tour guides. One day we went to the Great Ocean Road and got to see the 12 apostle rocks and the second day we went to Yarra valley for wine-tasting prior to heading to the airport! Marks Tours were extremely accommodating, every part of the tour was well thought out and specialized for us. We would highly recommend doing both of those tours if you have time in Melbourne. It’s amazing to get away from the downtown city and see the natural beauty that surrounds Melbourne. I had also mentioned I would love to see koalas and kangaroos, and both Mark and Peter made sure to carve out time in the schedule to look for koalas and kangaroos in the wild and we ended up seeing both! It was an unreal experience. We learned so much and had such a great time we cannot wait to come back and visit again. We would highly recommend Marks Tours to anybody!

Amazing tour guide - the best!
Mark has a unique ability engage a diverse group at the same time. 4 adults plus 6 Millennials (ages 20-25). We had different interest levels and Mark is able to adjust so everyone's needs were met. Our family has used tour guides from Hawaii, Thailand, Mediterranean and Caribbean. Mark was by far the most knowledgeable, most prepared and most authentic. He really does have an innate love for his city and interacting with people. He is well read, diverse, extremely knowledgeable in many areas and easily engaged with our adult children. The trip would have been completely different without Mark and I not sure we would have enjoyed it as much or appreciated Melbourne as much.
Melbourne is a must see - personally I prefer it over Sydney. We originally had 3 nights in Sydney and 2 nights in Melbourne but due to the fires, we switched and had 3 nights in Melbourne and I am so glad we made that switch even though the fires didn't really effect our travels. Two nights in Sydney was all we needed.

Thanks Dan for your wonderful review. We always strive to deliver the very best to our guests in all our tours. Great that the 2 families had such a good time in Melbourne and as you all experienced, , both the Great Ocean Road and the Penguins & Phillip Island are completely untouched by the fires so its Tours as usual here. It was great to have such a mix of ages to encounter and to ensure everyone had a great experience. Best wishes to you all in Minnesota Regards Mark & The Team.

Mark was an excellent tour guide. While we were at Moonlit Sanctuary, he talked about the different animals there and it was interesting to know the facts about those animals that I did not know before! At Phillip Island, he explained that penguins had a way of camouflaging while swimming so that predators could not spot them easily. During the long drives, he also shared about Australia’s history and when he was a little boy! Overall, the tours were nice and enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend Mark!

Mark was such a nice tour guide. He is so enthusiastic and energetic, telling us more about Australia and it's history. We went to great ocean road and it was very scenic. Mark helped my family take some beautiful pictures and we had such a wonderful time. After this experience, I learnt alot about great ocean road and it's interesting history with the help of Mark. I will definitely recommend Mark to anyone looking for a Melbourne tour guide.

We spent the most wonderful day in Melbourne under Mark’s expert guidance. There were 14 of us, we were picked up and delivered back to the cruise terminal right on time. Mark’s passion and knowledge of the city made the 8 hour tour go by extremely quickly. It was the most enjoyable tour. Thank you Mark.

Thank you Bella for taking the time to write a review. We always appreciate our guests writing a review as so many people now use Tripadvisor as "their word of mouth" when they travel. Hope the photos of your Koala Encounter came out as amazing shots. Best Wishes Mark & the Team
