Walks 101 is independently family owned and operated by an American/Australian couple who have made Melbourne their home after years of travelling and living in Europe. The team of guides who helped develop Walks 101 initially came from Free Walking Tours in Europe, and they noticed a lack of quality Free Walking Tours in Australia. Launching in Melbourne, the goal of Walks 101 is to provide an opportunity to everyone to join a walking tour. Not everyone has been on a free walking tour or knows if it's for them, so our flagship tour, the Free Walking Tour of Melbourne, serves as an entry point for guests to find out about the city and experience a walking tour without any financial risk. We're confident that you'll have a great time and want to join us for more, so we also offer a number of paid walking tours that typically include extras like access to local attractions, food and drink.

Tristan was very thoughtful and considerate in assessing what I might be interested to see. I enjoyed the Eureka Tower viewing deck, and will never glance down a Melbourne city Lakeway again in quite the same way.

My guide, Daniel was from Brazil - only fitting for this overwhelmingly multi cultural and diverse city, and I was the only client! I had a great time having the landmarks pointed out to me from the Skydeck and then walked along the Yarra river,...More

Terrific short tour (half day) with Leone taking us around the sights and some great stories on the way. Her telling of Ned Kelly's story at the end was dramatic - especially so, given we were in the grounds where he was hanged! Well worth...More

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Evan was a great guide! Very animated and kept the group engaged and laughing throughout the entire tour. Especially with his telling of the Ned Kelly story at the end. Would recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne!

I've lived in Melbourne my entire life (I grew-up in the inner city). So I kinda tagged along with some friends from out-of-town thinking that I wouldn't really learn anything. Boy. Was I wrong. The tour is well-researched, history-based and highly recommended for those from...More

I did this tour on my second day in Melbourne. I found it very informative and fun. Our tour guide Leonie was enthusiastic and just overall was great. Would definitely do this again.

Yes it does - this tour visits 4-6 street art laneways (depending on your guide), and if you're still interested at the end, the guides give you a free map to help you find more street art laneways. It also visits two... More
