Champions, rising stars and everyday gym enthusiasts call Dohertys home. If you've seen or been to Golds Gym in Venice Beach you'll love this place. More free weights and top equipment than anywhere I've been to. Lots of cardio equipment. A boxing ring. The Brunswick gym is massive and popular with visiting stars - Arnold Schwarzenegger comes here when in Oz, wrestlers like HHH and John Cena too. The walls of Dohertys is covered with memorabilia of bodybuilding, boxing and celebrity visitors. Such a great place. Open 24/7. Membership gives you reciprocal rights to Dohertys City gym in Flinders St - another top spot - and others around Melbourne. Casual visits just $10. Close to city, Victoria Market, Lygon St. This place has loads of personality and great for anyone who wants a workout.

It's very easy to miss this gym, but once inside it's hard to forget!
It's the perfect environment to train.
No fancy decor, no photos of actors smiling pretending that they're enjoying their intense cardio session.
White brick walls, mirrors and a mural of Arnie signed by the man himself!
This is a gym for people who want to focus, no fancy images or TVs in every corner to distract you.
The only time I could train was in the early hours of the morning, so I'd bounce to this gym when I finished work at 1am to get my workout done.
It's the perfect environment to train.

Everybody goes to this place, hundreds of regulars 24/7. Everybody goes about their business in a quiet serious. There is equipment to handle anything at all. Plenty of trainers around unless don't have your own. The cost is very reasonable indeed.

great gym to workout. good people. nice place. cross fit. some fashionable clothing too. I just don't like it when they play hip hop music. no one that goes there relates to it. I like electronica. it makes me workout more. either than that come one welcome come all. never mind the haters.

Melbournes number 1 hardcore gym exact words from bodybuilder greats like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Kai Greene the list goes on :D!!
Its 4 long bunkers under the railway line, 1 is a boxing bunker, 1 is cardio, reception, mens & womens change/restrooms & the last 2 is for weights :).
Majority of the equipment is fairly up to date apart from some dumbells & the boxing section :). While your training if your not wearing your head phones you'll hear people walking by & the train from time to time passing over you :).
Interior of the gym like mirrors walls & layout are pretty basic & equipment is lined up and not in a jumble like most gyms :)!! They got a huge apparel range from shirts & shorts, to caps & belts & to many other accesories to list.
I'm not a member myself but when i do train here i just pay the casual visit fee which is only $10 which is super cheap for what the majority of gyms would charge for a casual visit!!
Upon the Entry they have a hair dresser to the left & a healthy cafe to your right for all your smoothies, coffees & meals. Also have a variety of Frozen meals for sale at Dohertys reception.
Also the 2 best parts about this place is that it's practically in the heart of the city & its open 24/7 no excuses :)!!!

Open 24hrs this well equiped gym is what you are after if you want to use weights. It also has quite a range of treadmills but no aerobics area. It also has a boxing area. For serious Gym weights.
