Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

This upper-crust shopping arcade has a variety of high-class apparel outlets. The first two levels of Collins Lane look to be fully let. The top level has a food court, which appears to be popular, with mostly spicy Asian food. Collins Lane runs between Collins St and Lt Collins St, entry can be made from either end. The arcade is well looked affter, it is quite attractive.

I'm sure most that live or work in the Melbourne CBD have no idea this place exists. What's even more embarrassing is that it's grand opening was May 2017 - almost a year on the mall is still only half opened! I don't recall seeing any advertising for this mall apart from the news about grand opening April last year and a picture of Neil Perry and his Burger Project.
In general the mall looks pretty impressive. They are aiming for a high end but the brands are a mix bag. To be honest not sure who they are targeting. Surely a truly 'unique shopping experience', it's bloody empty!!
The toilets on level 2 is very nice, worth a visit. Don't bother with the rest of the centre.
I could share some photos of the empty mall, but I would recommend you to check it out for yourself the next time you are in town.
I miss the old Australia On Collins.

Strolling through downtown, I stumbled upon this shopping mall on my third day of vacation. It had a nice collection of high end stores, mostly clothing, womens handbags, and some restaurants. Still recovering from the "sticker shock" of Australia (I come from the US), I had no intention of buying anything. However, I enjoyed the window shopping. The restrooms in this complex are nice as well, but my favorite part was the cascading green glass ceiling. Talk about eye candy! There was also this unique bakery/tea room/cafe. Had I not just eaten breakfast, I would have definitely tried it out. The desserts in the window looked amazing.

Very silly of you guys to con people to have to walk the breadth and length of the centre simply to get the escalators.
What genius decided to make all escalators go in the same direction ?
It is not a smart business move, if anything, a real turn off.
Yes, you want people to look and shop, but do not make us go like sheep at your control
To get back to a store, you are forced to another lap if you’ve changed floors
Bad move guys

Walk in the Venue new and fresh.
Ordered 2 Banh MI roast pork and BBQ lemongrass chicken.
Arrived on table the pork and tandoori chicken passed off as the other.
Definitely not took it back and was told we were mistaken after some deliberation.
They agreed and changed the bun.
Not high on our return list.

One end of this is directly across from Centreway Arcade. There is more than one level to this and it always seems bright and full of upmarket retail stores.

A good place to use their restrooms upstairs and rest your feet at the food court upstairs. Shops are probably high end stuff here.

Lovely, simple display on the roof, better seen at night, walked through here and browsed the shops only.

I agree the escalators are annoying but clearly the shop proprietors voted to have passing traffic to improve custom. If you can get over that problem go to the top floor for relatively quick service during your lunch break for good food choices and coffee.
