Gangsters & Candy Stores (laser projector night tour, Melbourne CBD): Thursdays 8-10pm, Gangsters, Brothels and Lolly Shops tour (Melbourne CBD): Saturdays 4.30-6.30pm, Fitzroy True Crime tour Fridays 2-4pm and Sundays 1-3pm. The 2 hour walking tours are hosted by True Crime writer Michael Shelford and are based on his extensive research of original source materials. Included is a booklet with photos of the characters etc.

I just went on the Fitzroy True Crime Tour and wow, it was amazing! Michael, our guide, really knew his stuff and made the tour super engaging. He took us through the cool yet edgy history of Fitzroy, Melbourne's oldest suburb, and a hotspot for all sorts of criminal shenanigans back in the 1900s.
This tour isn't just a history lesson; it's an experience into a pivotal part of Melbourne’s past. It's a must-do for anyone interested in crime history or looking to see a different side of Melbourne. Kudos to Michael for such a well-organized and fascinating tour. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!

My partner Suzy & I found the tour of historic sites in Melbourne's China Town precinct of great interest and Michael's knowledge of the historic buildings and characters of the era captivating. We have told friends of the tour and they are going to make a booking too. Well done Michael.

Fantastic tour. Mick is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of crime in the Fitzroy district. He has done a lot of private research and is patient and thorough when providing the information. The trip is good value for the cost.

Absolute must do if you are interested in this seedy side of the Old Melbourne, Michael the tour guide gave it all . Super knowledgeable informative funny I loved can’t wait to get back to Melbourne for his Sunday Fitzroy tour. Best 2 hours I spent in Melbourne. What a fantastic day I had. This tour is brilliant and only made more memorable by Michael. A wonderful tour guide and historian. His knowledge sharing and story telling outside each of the points of interests makes you feel like you are actually living back in the time of the gangster wars. Cant wait to go back to Melbourne and do the CBD Tour. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone even if you are not interested in crime.

Who would have thought that so much interesting and enlightening history could be contained within a block in Fitzroy ? Michael shared with us his terrific knowledge in an an engaging and friendly way . We had a great time , thanks Michael !
