Hosier Lane is a lane in central Melbourne, within walking distance of Flinders Street station. Melbourne is proud of its street art, and Hosier Lane is the best gallery, if that is the correct term. The art of the walls of Hosier Lane is constantly...More

It is worth a walk through and after all it is just graffiti up a notch. It is interesting but tends to be a little tacky .

Some interesting art work on the walls of buildings involves 3 different locations that we found, fortunately the art work looks fantastic and the cheap skate graffiti artists haven't damaged the wall paintings

This alley is covered with graffiti. If you visit stop by the coffee shop. It is run by a non-profit that benefits youth.

I was impressed by the quality of the graffiti art. The lane is re painted often which means that it never gets boring. When we were there there was a memorial for a chinese activist and it was very busy. Worth a visit.

A walk through the lane is to get a real feeling for this hipster city. Melbourne is alleyway art one minute and high culture the next. You need to experience both.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

It's just an open street so no closing time. I wouldn't recommend going after dark -- you won't be able to see all the art and it does have a few lurkers.
