Stringybark creek is a beautiful seciton of forest you can walk through with part of the Ned Kelly story to boot. The location of the campsite where Ned Kelly and his gang were camped is marked as well as a monument to the three police officers who lost their lives when they clashed. Hidden amongst tall gums this site is at once beautiful and tragic, commemorating as it does the murder of 3 policemen by the Kelly Gang in 1878. There is nothing much at the site except for a pleasant picnic area and an information board, however on a fine day it is beautiful.

it was very interesting and a great walk through the Victorian bush. he only problem was that it was a bit off the beaten track. You have to drive about 12 kilometers on a gravel road to get there. We were glad we took the time to see this haunting historical site, however if you are not particularly interested in... More
