Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Before or after going through Salamanca Markets make sure you take the time to wander around this beautiful city centre park. A real highlight are all of the grave headstones that have been removed from their original places and restored in the park. Absolutley fascinating!

St. David's Park is filled with monuments, dedications, statues, tributes and features of history, including a memorial wall.
There are organised tours you can book, and that would likely provide a lot more background aside from reading all the plaques.
An excellent park to explore

The everyday attraction of this park is a set of very early colonial gravestones set into a wall that should not be missed by history buffs. But the highlight for me was on a Sunday afternoon when the Hobart Municipal Band struck up in the lovely old bandstand there. Sent me back many decades - lovely afternoon interlude.

What a lovely park in the center of Hobart.
Very picturesque. It seemed to have an abundance of history to it, plaques, memorials, a band stand, statues and more.
It was very well kept and had lovely trees and plantings.
I loved the entrance to it, a nice arched portico with grand sandstone carvings, the Lions were amazing.
Worth a stroll through when your in Hobart.

We went for a stroll around Hobart and the waterfront, then came across St Davids Park. The day was perfect, a mild 24 degrees, clear blue skies and just a lovely day for a walk around Hobart. The park is not huge, but it is a great spot to just sit down and have a rest on the lawns in the great outdoors. Right in the middle of the city at the waterfront it would be hard to miss. Recommend a visit to catch your breath and take in the world.

More history in this small space than anywhere in Australia. Makes you wonder just what happened over the past 'thousands of years' occupation where there is evidence if well...nothing! A great park that should have a monument to David Collins.

A small but pleasant park. Wandered in to track down the origins of the bag-pipes , after a browse through the Salamanca market.
Needed some tending - lawns well past due date for mowing.
But always nice to stumble across little green havens in cities.

It was the cemetery for the church so you will probably be walking over early settlers graves. But it is magnificently done with memorials now in a wall, whereas old grave sites and headstones often fall into disrepair because no relatives are left to maintain them. Well done.

Beautiful peaceful park with a lot of history. Fantastic way to pass the time, and free of charge to enter. I spent about half an hour here looking at the memorials and monuments
