Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Modest, but attractive, city centre park near the harbour in Hobart, filled with intriguing colonial era monuments plus more modern ‘first native’ additions. The park is on a steep slope, but footpaths wind through it

Beautiful peaceful park with a lot of history. Fantastic way to pass the time, and free of charge to enter. I spent about half an hour here looking at the memorials and monuments

We stumbled across this lovely park heading towards the Salamanca precinct, it was quite lush with trees and lovely gardens, a nice place to sit in peace.

Love this park. Beautiful location, quiet and green. Wonderful shortcut to Salamanca. Usually discover another spot, corner to reflect.

Before or after going through Salamanca Markets make sure you take the time to wander around this beautiful city centre park. A real highlight are all of the grave headstones that have been removed from their original places and restored in the park. Absolutley fascinating!

A small but pleasant park. Wandered in to track down the origins of the bag-pipes , after a browse through the Salamanca market.
Needed some tending - lawns well past due date for mowing.
But always nice to stumble across little green havens in cities.

St Davids Park dates back to 1804 and is the site of the first cemetery in Hobart (and also the first church). There are 900 people buried on the site which is now an English style walled park, containing many significant memorials to people past.

We walked through the park on our way to Battery Point and again on our way back from Salamanca place. Some interesting 'tombs'.

Wonderful blossoms, camellias, rhododendrons, stately old trees fill the park.

A magnificent experience.
Statues of historic significance also stimulate and interest one.
