We stumbled across Mickey, Elvis, Sharon and Steve as we were walking around constitution dock and approached Sharon & Steve by asking a few questions. Before long our three young son (ages 7, 5 and 3) were intrigued and excited. We thought it’d be a unique and memorable ‘to do’ activity in Hobart and we loved every moment of our 15 minute tour. Steve was the ultimate guide and we found it relaxing but also peaceful and exciting at the same time. We all loved it and would highly recommend this to locals, visitors you and old! The authenticity of Steve and Sharon’s costumes also played a big part in our enjoyment and they were both great with you boys. Thanks for a beautiful experience and one we will certainly remember forever!

Thank you so much Geoff for taking the time to review us. Although you took a 15 minute tour, it seems you managed to enjoy that to the ultimate and that's what our tours are for - making memories! We sincerely hope you get a chance to return and enjoy another tour with us - horses and humans alike.

We did the tour of Battery Point and Salamanca with the option to drink bubbles and eat chocolates while we toured. It was my birthday after all!
We had a fabulous time and our friendly guide was so informative and genuinely happy to be doing the tour. Both guides were extremely attentive to detail, history and you could feel the genuine love of the job and the horses.
Highly recommend doing this when in Hobart!

So glad we were a part of your birthday celebrations! We feel there's nothing more special than enjoying a carriage ride, except one with champagne and chocolates! Thank you again so much for your review and we hope your birthday will be remembered with fondness for years to come.

We four locals took the tour from Geeveston to Castle Phoenix on a fabulous sunny day with Steve, Mickey and Elvis the king. We all felt very safe along Arve Rd with the regular traffic to the castle, where Sharon welcomed us with yummy local treats. Steve, after attending to the horses, conducted a very informative tour of the castle and surrounds. We were able to see 3 of the 4 levels while the castle is in it's finishing stages of construction. Brilliant, highly recommend spending a half day enjoying this experience.

Lovely knowledgeable people, very well kept healthy beautiful horses. We had a lovely carriage tour, and it was so much better than we expected. The owners clearly care for their horses so much, which is so lovely to see. Really enjoyed the conversation and felt they really cared for making peoples experience great. Lovely people, lovely ride around Hobart.

We were in Hobart to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary & saw the carriage whilst walking back to our heritage accommodation (Hadleys)from the waterfront ...we pretty much ‘hailed’ the operators & asked if we might have a ride back to the hotel - taking a longer route. It was awesome, the owner operators are friendly and informative. The horses look well cared for & are incredibly well accustomed to the traffic. Apparently you can book the carriage & incorporate a high tea at Hadleys too - that would be pretty special.

We booked for the Salamanca Jaunt 20-minute ride and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, especially our five year old. The folks handling the horse carriage were very accommodating and friendly. The horses Mickey and Hank were lovely too. It really is a Must when visiting Hobart.

We're locals and hired the "unicorns" for an hour around Battery Point for my 3-year-olds birthday party at the park, it was absolutely fantastic, they ended up taking about 50 people on little 5-minute joyrides, kids of all ages absolutely enchanted. So easy and peaceful and the owners/drivers wonderful to deal with, very flexible and accommodating, and even gave my daughter some special birthday presents! Would hiiiighly recommend for something different for any horse/unicorn lovers! Thank you so much!!

We were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary. Added the Romance package with champagne and chocolate. I overpaid - paid for four instead of two. Sharon caught it right away, asked me about it, and refunded the extra. Great service, friendly folks, good knowledge - my questions were quickly and knowledgeably answered. Definitely recommend this. Even if you’re not celebrating something special. Happy we indulged.

I wish we had booked earlier as we could only get a 20 minute ride. Our horses Hank and Mickey were very entertaining along with their handlers. Gracie the dog was also a main attraction and hitched a lift. 10/10.

A very interesting and enjoyable time in Hobart on the waterfront tour. Steve and Sharon are so welcoming and very knowledgeable and they pack so much into the time. It was relaxing and different and very memorable and a great addition to time in Hobart. The horses were just delightful! The whole experience was wonderful and highly recommended.

What is the duration of the tour? How often does the tour occur? What is the cost of the tour?
Written 9 June 2018
Hi Catherine. There are 4 tours - 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr & 1.5 hours. 15 & 30 minutes are Waterfront tours, 1 hour is through Battery Point Village and 1.5 hours is our Trot Through Time tour which includes a free book, Discovering Hobart. We generally run Thursday through Sunday. Look at our website (google horse and carriage Hobart as I can't put a link in here) as we show our operating days and times. Costs are also on the website and are charged per tour not per person.
