Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We drove up to the Rosny Hill lookout one sunny morning....only 5 minutes from A3 highway and Eastlands Shopping Center. Great close views of the adjacent Tasman Bridge, across to the CBD, Cruise ship terminal, Mt Wellington and down the Derwent. For photographers, the morning sun is slightly behind making for good photographs. Well worth a 20 minute visit. PS another very good close in lookout is the Mt Nelson lookout.

Our tour guide took us to the Rosny Hill Lookout instead of Mt. Wellington due to poor visibility. The views from the Lookout were fantastic and the visibility was great in this area. We were able to see the city, harbor and bridge. There was a great deal of parking and no fee to take in the great views.

Great views from the north side - can see the Derwent, Hobart & Mt Wellington.
Much easier & faster to access compared to Mt Wellington, but not as a high a view.
Lots of free parking & easy to walk around.

Great to see all the lights and the bridge light up. Some obstruction but quite pleasant, you can just drive there

You need to cross the Tasman Bridge to get to it and once there you will enjoy the view of Hobart looking across the River Derwent.

Took a detour here on our way to the airport on Monday 26th November. This is the best vantage point to view Hobart CBD and Mount Wellington all set out in front of you, for you to enjoy.

As we had a car, we were able to drive up to the lookout and enjoy the views.
Easy to find and worth the effort to enjoy a scenic look at Hobart and surrounding areas.
We also stopped off at the Kangaroo Bluff Battery, a historic site that contains the remnants of guns once used to protect Hobart from invasion.

Went to watch sunset, but the place was filled with bogans revving up their cars loudly and swearing, etc. Trees obstruct some of the view.

The drive up to Rosny Point is fairly short but the view is beautiful as you get Mount Wellington as the backdrop with the Tasman bridge as well

The Rosy Lookout is at the top of Rosny Hill on Hobart's eastern Shore (on the right hand side as you come off the Tasman Bridge, heading east) and is often overlooked by visitors to Hobart. It is a short drive from the Hobart CBD and offers spectacular views of Hobart from an eastern shore perspective, along with Mount Wellington and the immediate Derwent River area. It has no facilities and is essentially a lookout and vehicle turning point. In saying that, it is highly recommended if you are - say - travelling back to Hobart Airport and have a few moments to spare for the great views.
