A remarkable building to house the policy makers of the State. A heritage building with great photo opportunities. Take a beer at the nearby hotel and look back at the building, then the port that it overlooks.

Guided tours start at 10:00am when Parliament is not sitting otherwise you can sit in the public gallery. Being off season there were only three of us on the tour which was excellent. Our guide gave a very friendly and comprehensive tour and the explainations of how the two different houses work was great. It is free.

If you want to know what makes a country tick, find out about its system of government. This was an informative tour about the history of democracy and governance of Tasmania, and the bonus was the building and furnishings too. Many thanks for the tour Charles.

This place is secured like an airport and not welcoming by any stretch of the imagination. The security people look down their nose at you as you walk by and I don't even know if visitors are allowed in.

Please do note that I'm not writing reviews for the Parliament House but the performance surrounding the Parliament House on Saturdays alongside Salamanca Market deserve credit & applause. Really great performance! Free for all to feel the music! Love it!

The best time to visit is Question Time in the House of Assembly when you get into the public gallery but if your local Member will take you on a tour, you'll get to see some of the history, including the dungeons underneath when it was the old Customs House by the water. Their website will tell you when the... More

Went here to the library as part of our conference tour. Lovely helpful staff. Bags go through scanners by security staff.

My mum and I went to Hobart's Parliament House while in Hobart. Beautiful place full of history and our tour guide really knew his history. Well worth seeing when in Hobart.

A rather historic building that is well worth visiting to see both Houses of Parliament. Entrance fee is no charge so worth taking a look.
