We visited the gallery and found numerous objects all made by Australian artists. There were numerous items to choose from and most were reasonably priced. Beautiful wood boxes caught my eye as they were all made with local woods. Definitely worth a visit

The Art Centre is just one of a large number of shops right in Salamanca. The Saturday markets are great and then get around to all the shops including the Art Centre.

Tasmania must have more artists per capita than any other city in Australia, The little shops are full of art and craft, The buildings themselves although old are structurally solid and interesting to look at.

I wandered into here quite by accident and thought I'd landed in Aladdin's cave by mistake. So many beautiful things to see by some many wonderfully creative people. If you love arts or crafts you'll love this place

Pleasant enough to wander around galleries and shops, with some interesting art and studios out the back.

Salamanca Market is one of Australia’s most loved outdoor markets and can be found every Saturday from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm, along the historic Salamanca Place, next to the Hobart waterfront. We found delicious food, artistic handmade jewelry, handcrafted timbers, handmade clothing, as well as vintage collectables, pottery, plants and flowers, and also UGG boots and lovely toy bears.... We had the chance to visit Salamanca Market in the week-end. This is a nice place to visit and to see handicrafts, local food, drinks, etc.

Geographical location is great and reeks of history, so impressive that everything sold here must be made locally in Tasmania. The quality of timber, jewelry, pottery etc is outstanding.

Thank Pamela P
