A quick stop here earlier this week while doing the rounds on the Red Decker "Hop On Hop Off" Service. A tranquil Bay with a string of quirky shops and cafes. Limited time so back on the Red Decker. Yesterday I did a Hobart Historic cruise which goes right past Sandy Bay and nearby Wrest Point Hotel and Casino.

As a Hobart resident i get to travel in and through Sandy Bay. It is a pleasant "burb" with an array of shopping. Not the best for parking i find. Very well located and worth a visit. It is on the way to the casino and its revolving restaurant.

Stopped off here when on the "red bus". Great shops and quirky little cafes. Make time to visit this area.

This is the best suburb of Hobart - The Toorak or Elizabeth Bay. Very nice walk or drive from Hobart. Lots of top places to eat or drink or have a coffee.

A very pretty area although a bit windy when we visited. Still very nice place to drop in. Go at high tide.

A beautiful suburb of Hobart. Stunning views across the water and onto Hobart. I was staying at a friend's house, perched up on the hillside.

We stayed in Sandy Bay on this, our first trip to Hobart. We had been warned it was quite a hike from the city centre but being used to walking around Melbourne, we didn't think it was that far! There is a local bus if you prefer and taxis from the centre cost less than $10. It was a great... More

Walked around sandy bay on a cold & miserable spring day , we had 4 seasons in one day!! The walk around was very picturesque . Very many historic homes & many large homes to look at . It would be lovely to visit on a warm day
