Long Beach Sandy Bay

A great beach for families and the playground for the children is excellent - grandkids love going there.

All beaches are amazing and that includes this one. A popular little gem near Hobart CBD. Everybody enjoys a little stroll at a beach with ice-cream shops and an awesome pizza place and an amazing playground - right? My favourite part of our regular visits are the bit where we swim out to the pontoon. Urgently need a swim when... More

Popular beach area. Good eating area. Kid friendly park. Twilight market held every second Friday from 4pm - 8.30 pm during daylight saving time. Gourmet food and wine, craft beers, cider etc available. Very family friendly. Live music also played. Lovely place to be especially on warm evening

It has better hosing and a great view over the Derwent River and a pleasant walk around the waterfront. Well worth a visit when in Hobart and probably one of the better places..

Lovely walking track along the foreshore from Nutmeg Beach, along Long Beach and around the point where historic Sentosa House is located. Pleasant parks and coffe shops at Lower Sandy Bay.

I suppose that we shouldn't say too much or the secret will leak out...haha! Aren't we privileged to have such a special beach area to enjoy? Easy walking, cafés, good seafood restaurant, children's park and sports field - something for everyone - even a dog walking area. If you visit, please leave it as pristine as you found it!

As a retired couple who love the outdoors, we just love this area of Sandy Bay. It has it all! Stunning views, beautiful grounds & gardens, a spectacular water feature, level walking paths in good condition, plentiful seating, shaded areas, & close by, the warm, casual elegance & delicious cuisine at the welcoming Beach House Café. For young families with... More

I walk on long beach as much as I can. It is a great place to catch up with a friend and go for a walk. End to end is about 4klm and takes me about an hour. It has easy access, parking and food if needed.
