Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed seeing the Jurassic movie today in Gold Class. We got a cheaper ticket with RACT but they slug you with a huge online booking fee (even though we did the work!).
The seat is comfy. The hot chocolate we ordered was a bit cold and small for the price.
Also there are no toilets in the GC area.
So not 5* review sorry!

This review covers the gold class cinemas within village cinemas in Hobart CBD.
If you're looking for a luxury evening out to the cinema then Gold class may be your thing. A gold ticket entitles you, to use of the gold lounge which has a waiting service and offers food and drink not available at the front candy bar such as burgers and chips, thai curry and cocktails. They can also bring food from the candy bar to you too, such as popcorn. If you place an order for food and drinks they can either bring the food to you in the lounge or to you in the theatre at the beginning, middle or end of the film. Unfortunately, there no toilets in the lounge so you have to leave the lounge to go to the communal toilets.
Just before the film starts, they approach you in the lounge and personally escort you to your chairs. The chairs themselves are very comfy and can recline electrically. There are only about 30 seats in the theatre and they are in pairs, so very good for romantic dates!
The waiters then bring you your food and drinks based on your time preferences during the film. Unfortunately it can be a bit distracting when they come in to serve the guests, but this is the only downside.
The food and drinks are rather expensive and the portions are small, never mind the tickets! But the whole experience is more comfortable compared to the normal viewing experience in the larger theatres.

So whilst the movie itself was great and the seats, screen, etc were fine, I was somewhat confused and frustrated by ticketing and food setup.
They offer hot food - great - BUT you have to wait 10+ minutes while they make it for you. I was holding up everyone else in line whilst they made my burger. I thought it was like the many other cinemas today where they bring the food in to you. Had I known I wouldn't have asked. Also, there is no menu to look at the hot food available, so you can't be making your decisions whilst you are standing in line - making the slow service even slower!
They serve alcohol - great - BUT you cannot buy it unless you are a member, which I am not, I am just visiting, so that's weird?!
So yeh, was a bit disgruntled going into the movie, but was a pleasant experience once inside.

perhaps when a new product is launched, more research and training should be conducted before launching to the public.
purchasing tickets at the cinema is now such a lengthy experience. staff are extremely reluctant to take food orders and direct you to the app. you download the app and find that there is a delivery fee to your seat and that you can only pay with a credit card, and thats if you are even lucky enough to get through your order without error messages coming up. for a company that already sucks so much money out of people, this is a joke. the hobart venue manager is also extremely rude and hostile.
the cinema itself is nice and the food is good, but thats the only thing saving this from being a one star review. had i not had a voucher to use, i wouldn't have bothered. if you want a premium cinema experience, go to the state cinema in north hobart.

All three of us that attended this cinema (Friday 27Jan17) were disappointed with the lack of food choice, service and toilets cleanliness. We were not served for quite a while in the lounge, and at film commencement the staff only pointed from the top where our seats were. Then of course the requested drinks never came until close to film end after we pressed the call button. Gold Class in Melbourne at various locations are far superior to the Hobart location. Every year my wife and I, plus maybe someone else in the family, attend Hobart Gold Class. For the $99.75 ticket cost plus additional beverages (no food since our choices unavailable -read almost 10 choices, and nothing healthy!), I do not think I will bother again. May as well save your money- better spent elsewhere since this is not value for money. Customer focus here sure was blurred!!

This is a review for gold class Hobart they send me a survey after each visit saying they listen but no unfortunately they don’t! so tired of telling them! they need to retrain their staff on the simple things like how to listen to a customers order and deliver on that last night I couldn’t believe our food mini burgers and hot dog was cold ( bun and sausage with grated cold cheese) all stone cold 😩😫 who ever is in charge of this place needs to start doing some serious staff training and quality control!,

I was just drugged against my will while at the Hobart fold class cinemas 🎥
I went to a 9:30 showing on Friday night and was presented with food and drinks as per normal, one of the drinks had been spiked and it turns out I was drugged, why would they do this and how could this happen.

Greeted at door. Offered menus. And there it ended. Poor service. Plenty of staff about but could not care a toss about customers. Far too busy chatting themselves. Clearly people waiting to order as menus open. Very disappointing. And annoyed.

As usual the horrid smells of other patrons disgusting behaviour are getting harder to conceal. This place needs a good refurb of seats and carpets.
