We spent a pleasant afternoon walking around here, taking in the view, the old houses which are well maintained, the small coffee shops and bistros. We were told that property values here are quite high. We saw some restaurants but they were still closed when we were there. A lot of tourists could be seen walking around, taking pictures and... Go to Batter point to see the "Old Town". The buildings here are mainly residential and did I say old? History was made here where Errol Flynn was a boy and much more. Get the tourist bus to save your legwork and homework as many significant buildings are to be viewed over a wide area.

A large part of Hobart's charm is that some parts of the City have barely changed over the years and Battery Point is one of the best examples of this. It is easily located behind the old warehouses along the waterfront with Kelly's Steps being one of the favourite access points. Many of the shops and private residences remain unchanged... More

Not to be missed if visiting Hobart. Many wonderful old homes from a century ago beautifully resorted. In particular don't miss Arthur Square surrounded by about a dozen beautiful old homes, now some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Also a great selection of wonderful restaurants and a famous Hobart bakery. Don't also miss Princes Park in... More

A fascinating and beautiful place easily reached on foot from the city centre. Some great homes en route through Battery Hill.

A quick visit to Hobart must allow time for a visit to Battery Point where you will find quaint stone cottages and some wonderfully restored buildings, character-filled restaurants and even a hotel that has a modern look but manages not to destroy the ambience and relaxed feel of the area.
