Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you like movies and history, this place is for you! Up to date movies being shown in intimate little theatres. My husband and I were the only ones in our cinema to watch “The First Omen”. It was a great experience. You can take food and drinks purchased at the entrance bar.

The building is over 100 years old, but has been respectfully adapted to modern day movie goers.

Went for friends catchup, lunch and coffee.
Staff were brilliant .. helpful as we dithered over the menu and totally obliging with humour. Food up to expectations and great venue.

A modern Café full of light with floor to ceiling glass, casual seating and contemporary décor in contrast to the elegant early 20th century façade out front.
The northerly aspect guarantees a warm sun filled setting for a casual coffee and cake with friends before watching a Movie or for a meal any time after 10:00 am.

The Café has great potential, pity it does not always live up to that promise.
The lunch/brunch menu is rather pedestrian, nothing adventurous.
For our last visit we each chose the poached eggs on toasted sourdough, $13.90. To that choice we added mushroom, ($4.00) and Bacon ($5.00). Without the sides the eggs on toast would have been rather bland.
The toast was somewhere between untoasted and toasted, the eggs should have been a little on the runny side for that dish but they were cooked a little too long. The mushroom and bacon were okay.

The service was a little slower than we had experienced at this venue previously.
With coffee the bill for the two of us came to $59.00.

Small, quaint and fantastic. A great place to relax and it also serves alcohol, if you are feeling like a drink with your film. Concession tickets and although pricey, I liked the intimate feel of this cinema

We were the only 2 people up in cinema 7 tonight and it was a great experience. The entry price is high but at least there is a student discount.

We really enjoy going here. For a cinema we think it’s great.
Theatre size really good, interesting building - mix of old and new.
Nice cafe to have lunch first, or coffee afterwards etc.
And the bookshop next door is super too.

Quick stop for a drink before going home. Hot day thought I would just grab a can of beer. Orderd a Tasmanian beer The Albert Larger, no glass thanks. Opened beer, then nearly fell over. Charged just over $11 for a can you can buy online for $5. I understand running a business is expensive but my God this price is stupid. I'm not a lousy person but Get realistic please. Only had 1 beer

Love the movies but the cafe is overpriced and the creamy seafood chowder is awful. I sent it back to get a few bits of seafood and for it to be warmer than tepid. The new bowl was hot with some chewy squid and minute mussel bits. The taste was of dishwashing water even after I added salt! There was no creamy taste. The toasted sourdough was hardly toasted!! All in all bad

Early for a night at the films so we decided on an early light dinner. Great decision. The café is full of atmosphere with a matching décor. Try the Andalusian chicken or the pesto stuffed mushrooms. Where the Crawdads Sing is a must see film.

Excellent old and new cinema with lots of smallish viewing areas, great cafe and drinks if you feel like it
