Step inside Australia's oldest operating brewery, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Wellington, to learn how Cascade has been crafting beer since 1832. Our guides will share Cascade's fabled recipe; a dash of history, a healthy dose of Tasmania's finest ingredients and a generous serve of brewing craft. You can take a tour or just relax and enjoy Cascade beers and Mercury ciders, savour a delicious lunch and wander our three acres of heritage gardens.

The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week between 10am - 5pm, excluding Good Friday and Christmas day and tours operate daily.

Remember, you're visiting a factory or processing plant for beer. You'll see stainless steel pipes, huge vats, gauges and even more pipes, then some cool engineering at the end. You'll also get: Knowledge on beer manufacturing An insight into how automated it has become Delightful tour guides Great tasting beer at the end Beautiful views of the outside of the... More

There’s two tours conducted at the Cascade Brewery site. The Brewery Tour is for 16yr olds and over. It’s conducted on the brewery site and beer tastings are only for those 18yrs and above. The beer tastings are generous. Enclosed shoes must be worn for this tour, along with some high vissy and safety glasses. All these items are provided,... More

I know that Tasmanians love Cascade Brewery beer, but it just wasn't for me. My husband and I visited because we wanted to check out the oldest brewery in Australia, so we went in and did a little tasting flight. Though I didn't really enjoy the beer, the building and grounds were gorgeous. It was nice to get a little... More

Did the guided tour. It could have been really interesting if it wasn't for our guide who were talking as if she was just about to fall a sleep and making everyone else wanting to go to sleep. Also they need to look over how to divide the tour groups. Our group was 28 people while the group walking just... More

Enjoyed this informative brewery tour and the gorgeous surrounding garden. The tour was interesting as it touched on the history of the fabulous building and its colourful founder. At the conclusion of the tour we were given four bottle tops which could be traded for beer /cider samples at the bar as well as a 10% discount voucher for food... More

We went to the tour as our friend recommended. The tour was ok, our tour guide is good as she know lots of knowledge about brewery. The whole set up of the tour was very low key; old flow chart on the wall with a few samples of the various ingredients in the old jam jar passing around (smelt almost... More

Did the tour. Was very informative. Sam was our guide and did a great job. The included tasting was generous. The gardens were wonderful, the Sunday jazz was enjoyable.
