We had two one day trips with Rob from Tasmania I Drive in February this year and I definitely recommend him as a Taussie local tour guide!

Rob prepared very well for our tours, he did his best to make us see and experience as much as possible during two short tours. Before coming to Australia I told Rob that animal encounters were very important to us and thanks to him, we had the opportunity to pet kangaroos and a wombat, feed echidnas and even see a platypus in nature! Rob also took us to local berry farms and to great oyster farm, where we had the best oysters in our lives.

On the other hand, since we had private tours with Rob, he stayed very flexible and changed the itinerary of our second tour, just to let us visit one of the local wineries. Rob as a tour guide was very friendly, talkative and knowledgeable; we learned a lot from him.

After coming back home, we all agreed that a short stay in Tasmania was the best part of our vacation in Australia.

I am so pleased that your family rated Tasmania so highly after your holiday "down under" and, yes, that platypus sighting was the best I have seen of quite a few!

June 2022
We had an amazing time with Rob, and Tasmania I Drive. We spent 3 days in Tasmania in June as part of our 2 weeks Australian trip. We were skeptical about Tasmania in winter, but it ended up being the highlight of our Australian trip. Tasmania is amazingly beautiful; some national parks look like enchanted forests! And a huge part of our experience was due to Rob. So many of the places Rob took us to were small or lesser known trails that ended up being magnificent. One of them was essentially on the side of the road and took us into an incredible rainforest that had vines and trees crisscrossing the path. You had to step over some, and duck under others. Somehow, this seemingly unknown trail become interactive – it came alive. We were fascinated and excited, our trip was instantly enhanced.

Also, the structure of the trip allowed for extreme flexibility – Rob was able to adapt to the weather or other circumstances on the go. The van was large and very comfortable, having space our family of 5 and all the item we brought, an aspect that was a great relief after similar previous tour didn’t have this space. As we drove comfortably from spot to spot, Rob gave us insightful explanations, always looking to see if any of us had any questions for him.

He really enjoyed immersing us in all things Tasmania. Not only did Rob known all the best spots, but he was also very knowledgeable about the history of the cities we visited, the plants and animals he spotted between the trees, and the local culture in which everyone we met was kind.

Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice to go with Tasmania I Drive. They certainly made our trip memorable, and I would highly recommend them.

We had the pleasure of touring Tasmania for eight days with Rob Cooper. He made certain we saw all the sights we wanted to see, drove us around beautiful countryside, and thoughtfully attended to our needs. We enjoyed our conversations with him and were impressed with his knowledge of Tasmanian wildlife, culture, and history. You will not go wrong by arranging a tour with Tasmania I Drive.

From touch down to five days later for take off, Rob was taking care of us. He smoothly maneuvered through traffic, delivered us to restaurants, hotels and national parks and even hiked with us on fantastically gorgeous trails. He kept us on schedule but was good natured when we dawdled. He was knowledgeable and flexible and when our wonderful visit came to an end, we had genuine affection for our trusty tour guide! We toured Tasmania in early March which was the beginning of fall. We had good weather, some chilly weather and some rain. Bring sunscreen, hats, layers, raincoat, hiking gear and a readiness for adventure. Neither Tasmania nor Rob will disappoint you!

We wanted to see and do as much as we could in 5 days—and Rob really came through. He made all arrangements: Hotels, Park fees, driving etc. He is knowledgeable and has a great since of humor. He accompanied us on every hike and made sure all details were handled... even enlisting his wife to help with airport luggage. Very Highly recommend Rob.

Thank you for your positive review. My wife and I enjoyed meeting you all very much. It was great to have a group with a similar sense of humour, fun and adventure. I would love for you to come back one day to continue our adventures and to see if you have remembered how to say emu!

Deeply grateful to Rob for his knowledge, skill and flexibility in arranging 3 perfect days for a 70 something couple and their 6 year old grandson. We even saw a platypus in the wild! Plus scenic walks, time on an animal farm, and animal encounters at ZooDo. We had spectacular times at Richmond and at Port Arthur gaols. Many thanks for the most personalized, fun and knowledge about Tasmania!

We had a great day with Rob on a customized private tour leaving from
Hobart! Rob was an incredibly great guide with lots of local knowledge and was able to fit in everything we wanted in a wonderfully jam packed tour day. We enjoyed hearing about Rob’s Tasmanian roots and learning more about the nature and wildlife in and around Freycinet national park. Our tour included a walk to Wineglass Bay, a stop for lunch at a marine farm and an unexpected visit to Friendly Beaches (where the shells are gorgeous)! We had a great stop at a vineyard on the way home and overall a great day exploring the east coast of Tassie. Thank you, Rob!

It was a long day but we managed to fit everything in and it was a lot of fun for me as well! I am pleased you had a chance to get your toes wet and enjoy a wine tasting on our return journey. Where possible I will always tailor the day to suit.

It was clear to see that Rob meticulously planned out our 3 day trip with him the beginning of January. He showed us beautiful vistas, we got to see koalas and feed kangaroos. We explored the history of Tasmania, hiked amazing trails. He arrived every day on time; had delightful stories and found terrific food. We could not have had such a wonderful experience without him. Thanks Rob. We loved our experience with you! Esther & Charlie H

I also enjoyed our time together. In three short days I think we packed in quite a few attractions and adventures. You will have to come back one day for a longer stay!

We are 3 couples of good friends from Singapore who have recently returned from cruising Tasmania. We booked our private land tours of Hobart and Port Arthur through Tasmania-i-drive. Booking was done easily through its website and we were given clear instructions on how to meet up with our tour guide on the appointed days of the tour.
Our tour guide was Rob Cooper who provided very good service which made our tour of Tasmania a very memorable one. He fulfilled all our requests to visit various scenic areas and places of interest in Hobart and Port Arthur and provided good information about these places. We would certainly recommend him to anyone who are intending to visit Tasmania and need a good tour guide.

Thank you for your review of Tasmania I Drive. As a small privately owned business your recommendation certainly helps to promote our ability to meet the demands of Tasmania's growing number of Cruise Ship visitations.
