Having walked the South Coast track 40 years we were keen to revisit in a more leisurely manner.
The whole day was exhilarating. Seeing orange bellied parrots and a ground parrot was fabulous, motoring across Bathurst Harbour was spectacular and flying over the coast and the Western Arthurs was a real privilege. Thanks to guide Peter and pilot Liam for your expertise. This is a must-do trip.

What a fantastic day, weather perfect,
Flight down the coast with stunning views of this magnificent coast line.
Morning tea at the observation hut and entertainment provided by 15 yellow belly parrots.
Short walk to our vessel then who could have thought it would get better.
The experience with ( yes weather was one out of the box) our pilots to coxswain took us to places in Port Davey that you only dream about.
Lovely seafood lunch with local wine at a deserted beach , living the dream .
Back to our plane after doing the Needwonnee walk depicting the local aboriginal local history of the area.
Flight back to Cambridge airport was inland over the sparse and rugged ranges. We have many photos , but only posted one as more people need to experience this great day.
The passion for this area was vocalised with the stories, names, history and knowledge of this area of Tasmania so remote by our very experienced pilot, Zeydan.

Great trip, thoroughly recommend locals visit this wilderness area, amazing flight in, boat trip around the harbour and lovely lunch on the beach looking over Mount Rugby. The guide was so interesting and told us not only facts around location but the stories of the people who lived and worked in this remote area. The pilot was also friendly and informative. Well worth going on this trip it was an amazing day.

We had an excellent day with the flight first down the coast which gave us a good perspective of Hobart and the River Derwent.
Landing at Melaluca and seeing the museum gave us an insight into life there in the early part of the century.
The boat trip was excellent a Mark a very knowledgable guide.
Good company and all in all a very worthwhile day out, to be recommended.

We had a great experience flying with Par Avion to Melaleuca in the South West to the start of the South Coast Track!
The fare was very reasonable, and we received great service when we checked in at Cambridge Airport and also from the pilot.
I was a joy to fly in a smaller plane (9 seats + pilot) with commentary along the way from the pilot. It's an added advantage of such scenic terrain to access the South West Wilderness and the bushwalking tracks there. Our flight to Melaleuca took us past Mt Wellington, over the Huon Valley, and past the Western Arthurs!
Par Avion are a great business and they look after their customers very well! Highly recommend!

The South West Experience was an unique day and an opportunity not to be missed. After just an hour of flying starting with urban landscape then rural valleys and forest to beaches, bays, cliffs, rugged peaks and islands, we were landing ( expertly) in the remote and isolated Tasmanian wilderness. Captain Theo and our expert guide Peter were engagjng and shared a wealth of information which of course added greatly to the experience. The flight in the small plane was spectacular, the boat trip in Bathurst Harbour in equal measure fun and spectacular. Delicious picnic on a pristine harbour beach. We gained an insight into the protection of a rare bird population ( we watched them feeding) , the first nations people and how they lived in that landscape, and the World Heritage Area. The return flight over the Arthurs and major ranges, and seeing Federation Peak was great on the fine February late afternoon that we had. Thank you Peter and Theo.

Par Avion picked my brother and I up from Melaleuca air strip after hiking from Cockle Creek to Melaleuca. The flight was amazing and the pilot was fantastic and pointed out many amazing landmarks on Our flight back to Hobart. We flew back with a group of day trippers who had flown in for the day and they recommended the day trip as a must do as well.

Our experience of this iconic world heritage site engaged interest throughout. I would describe it as an immersive experience engaging all of our senses (be careful with the pepper berry experience). Morning tea in a little bay allowed us to enjoy nature. Lunch in bush house owned by early pioneers introduced us to the history and hardships of early settlers. The warm fire around which we enjoyed our gourmet lunch was wonderful. A thoroughly professional and world class experience. Thank you to our pilot, boat handler and guide, Nick.

We had a wonderful day flying into and out of Melaleuca via two different routes.
Very interesting, scenic and worthwhile boat trip on Bathurst Harbour .
Lovely lunch provided.
Very informative commentary by our pilot and coxswain Liam.
Would thoroughly recommend this trip as a way of accessing the SW for a taster:- without needing the skills and gear and applying the toil needed to walk or sail in and out of this remote and special place.

Magic! Delicious snacks. Knowledgeable and approachable crew made me feel safe in their hands. Views of southern tasmania and the changes in terrain were almost alien in to me. I found the entire experience I was mostly in awe. Thoroughly enjoyed and would/will do it again and again. If you're wondering whether you should, just go, you won't regret it.
