We were cold enough in our modern clothing so I shudder to think how the poor women incarcerated here would have fared. This World Heritage site has been well restored to give an insight into the lives of female convicts. I was fascinated by the...More

The Her Story play gave us the feeling of being a female convict. They got us involved - especially the kids. A vivid taste of history!

Went with family who came to visit from Mexico. We highly recommend this visit but make sure you go on the "Her Story" tour, otherwise you'll miss the whole message and the visit might not make any sense. The play is interactive, transports you back...More

This place really exposed the atrocities of the times that female prisoners had to endure for so little crimes.

Brilliant and informative! Must do if you are in the area. We rarely hear about the female convicts and what they and their children went through. I highly recommend a tour to gain real insight into the history of this site rather than the $5...More

This is a very informative and well set out attraction. You need to use your imagination to glean an insight to the horrors of female transportation and the aftermath of their incarceration. Make sure you book 'Her Story'. The outdoor play is about 40-50 minutes...More
