Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don’t say this lightly, but this one of the best things I have done in my life. The trip it’s self was incredible, the Tasmanian landscape is unlike any I have seen before, you get to see lushes rainforest, sweeping plains, mountains, beaches just to name a few and not to mention you seem to be greeted by the unique Australian wildlife every time you turn a corner or stop to take a photo. Hands down the best way to see this great place Is by motor bike, and the best place to hire a bike from it moto adventure Tasmania, I have genuinely not met someone with as much care and passion for what they do that Ian, he turned what would have been an incredible trip into a life altering one. He truly cares about giving everyone the best experience, and he most certainly delivers. Please everyone do yourself a favour and do this!

We returned from a 5 day self-guided tour with accommodation included on the 28th February 2015. This was a great way of touring around Tasmania. Ian put together a great package for the three off us and everything went to plan without a hitch. The route was great and the accommodation was fantastic. All the B&B were great with comfortable bed an really great hosts.
I can recommend Motoadventure for your next ride around Tasmania and we will return.

Thanks Ian,

Frank, Ian and Glenn.

Had the good fortune to snag a Triumph Tiger for a 24 hour rental. Ian and son looked after me nicely and I had a great ride around this beautiful area. Very friendly people and a good bike. Great way to see the countryside and nice roads too.

This is the 4th time we've hired bikes from Ian. We went for 3 BMW 1200GS 's this time. The bikes were in perfect order, and the GPS came pre-loaded with suggested routes. Riding in Tassie is so much better than on the mainland, beautiful twisty roads and next to no traffic. My favorite is the road out to the Gordon Dam - it is just stunning when the weather is right.

Flying to Hobart and hiring from MotoAdventure works so much better than bringing your own bikes across on the ferry from Melbourne.

Ian also has good quality gear you can hire if you don't want to pack all your own stuff. Last year my wife and I spent 10 days in Tassie and hired bikes and gear for just a few days. Hiring gear was better than lugging it around for the full 10 days.

Already looking forward to our next trip!

Thanks so much for the positive review Mark. The ride to Gordon Dam is one of my favorites as well. I also love the Mole Creek to Cethana Road, Elephant Pass and.... oh hang on, I could, and do go on and on with this. Anyway, thanks for you and your brother's return visits. Maybe next time you will be able to find a bit more time. Cheers, Ian

I Hired a Triumph X-R 800 with top box and panniers from Moto Adventire for 7 days to do a Lap of Tassie .Ian was great. No problems with booking and pick up and Ian spent a lot of time pre ride showing me what me maps and giving me info on the best routes to take in the available time.
Ten days would have beeen better but I hope to be back. The roads and scenery were spectacular. I'd done a fair bit of research and spoken to a lot of friends before touring but the week long ride exceeded my expectations.
The road from Strahan to Strathgordon and the East coast were amazing but pretty much all of the roads are like that. Motorcycle Heaven as they say.
Iif it all possible just do it and if you need to hire a reliable bike then see Ian from Moto Adventures.
He is an experienced Motorcycle Traveller with a wealth of knowledge on touring the island on a bike.
A motorcycle tour of Tasmania is something you will remember for the rest of your life.

It was easy to book this tour, Ian kept us informed and gave us options. We did a 10 day trip that was mapped out on a GPS so it was easy to follow with out having to follow if we didn't want to. The accommodation that Ian booked for us was wonderful and very welcoming. We would sit on the various balconies with a glass or three enjoying amazing views.
The bikes were new and reliable with plenty of panniers to transport our cloths. Our only complaint, we didn't have a long enough holiday. Will defiantly go back, will defiantly use Moto Adventure again and can defiantly recommend this company.

Thanks for your very positive review. We only have a few accommodation partners, but that is because we know they take your enjoyment seriously. 10 days was a pretty good time to look around the island, but as there are so many hidden places to discover you could probably spend 35 years here like me, and still not have found them all. Thanks for writing, regards, Ian

The most incredible way to experience Tasmania! Some of the absolute best motorcycling you will ever encounter. Thrilling roads combined with spectacular views around each and every corner. Take Ian's advice, go SOUTH! or if you've got the time, DO IT ALL!! - Was a struggle to give the bike back! :(
Already planning our next visit.
Thanks Ian!!

Thanks you very much for your kind comments Dan. I felt your pain giving the bike back, but you can have it again next time you visit Hobart :)

My wife and I did a 6 day tour around Tassie in late Feb/early March. Ian organised everything for us, so all we had to do was hop off the plane and get to the depot to pick up the bikes. Before we knew it we were off on our adventure! The bikes were fantastic. In excellent order with low k's and plenty of carrying capacity in the panniers. The supplied GPS was excellent, with each trip day loaded in. Set and forget! This saved us multiple stops to look at maps. The accommodation was of very good standard, with plenty of variety (mainly B&Bs) and friendly hosts. The roads in Tasmania were what o would classify as motorcycle heaven. Nowhere in the world have we experienced such great roads bunched together. I would highly recommend Tasmania in general and this company in Particular!

We booked a week long self-guided tour with Ian and as other reviewers have said he provided exceptional service and was an absolute pleasure to deal with, both by email when booking the tour and in person when we collected and dropped off the bike. The organisation of the tour, the standard of preparation of the bike (we had a Suzuki V-Strom with panniers which was super comfortable for two-up touring and had loads of space for our luggage) was impeccable and the accommodation Ian booked for us was excellent. His attention to detail with the route (some of the best bike roads in the world), pre-loaded GPS and tips on places to see along the way was great, and even as an experienced rider I greatly appreciated his advice and local knowledge on how to have a safe and enjoyable experience on Tassie's challenging roads. Can't recommend Moto Adventure Tasmania highly enough.

I found the rental agency on a whim after seeing a video about the great motorcycle roads in Tasmania. After several emails with Ian customizing a trip for a whirlwind 1 week of motorcycling, I had a motorcycle and lodging for 5 days. Ian was super nice and relaxed about me picking up the motorcycle in the morning instead of the evening before. He went through the bike and the route around Tasmania in quite a bit of detail. I left knowing exactly where I was going and what all the options were. He provided a GPS with every possible stop on the route. With the GPS, I was never lost or confused about my options or where to go next. It was just me and the road. Every single stop in the evening was slightly different, each with their own unique charm. Some had beautiful views of the water, some were little oasis in the downtown. All were wonderful to stay at. The entire trip everyone was friendly and was expecting me as the crazy motorcyclist in the rainy season.

Honestly, Ian's planning and beautiful BMW R1200GS made the entire trip simple, relaxing and amazing. Without the time and energy he put in, it could have been a disaster.

If you want to ride motorcycles around the magical island of Tasmania, thru forests, towns, farms and coastlines that are from another world, you should rent from these fine people.
