Above and Beyond seaplanes are a great company and their Hobart City scenic flight was a wonderful hour. We saw fantastic views of the city surrounds and our pilot customised the information offered to suit. I highly recommend it.

We flew from Friendly Beaches at Freycinet to Hobart. Cam our pilot was great. The flight was very smooth for such a small plane and at 1,000 feet. Because we couldn't do a water takeoff or landing we did a water touch and go to give us the feel. The scenery down the coast was stunning and Cam was very knowledgeable and even spotted a whale.
We organised transfers from Hobart to Saffire at Coles Bay. Unfortunately on the way up the weather was bad, but Above & Beyond kept us informed and arranged a car and driver for us. Although not our preferred transport it was seamless.
Working with the team to arrange our flights was very easy.

A last minute decision to book for a flight to Lake St. Clair, and it was worth it. Above & Beyond Tasmanian Seaplanes certainly impressed. Henry our pilot was very professional, pointing out the sights from Cambridge Airport to Lake St. Clair ensuring our flight was relaxing & enjoyable. Landing on water was certainly an experience. They also organised to ferry our vehicle to Pump House Point for our return journey. I would recommend experiencing a flight with them.

You ruined what has been a wonderful trip to Tasmania. Thanks. I’m leaving Tasmania with a bad taste in my mouth now after all your mucking me around. I will never recommend you to any of my friends, family, or anyone that I know is going to Tasmania.
I had to pay on 2 separate occasions after your mucking me around with flights and they still weren’t secured.
Unreliable company, terrible customer service and will muck you around. My second flight booked was cancelled within minutes of me due to check in. Unreliable company particularly if you’re a solo traveller. Dont waste your time or money. Will just let you down.
I hope by the time I come back to Tassie again that you have competition as I would use any company I could but you. I’ll see the 3 capes by doing the trek sometime before I’d book through you again. Thankfully I got to do a boat trip there at least, but not the same.
Yes you gave me refunds (one of which I’m still waiting on and is in cyber space) but that does not solve the problem of the disappointment and mucking around, discrimination against a solo traveller, and inconvenience you caused me. While you did offer a flight if Hobart, I told you repeatedly I was only interested in 3 capes.
If you’d just flown me the first time on the perfectly sunny day on my own I’d be giving you a 5, but you’re money hungry and don’t care about providing a positive customer experience or accepting that you had a customer who had paid and was ready to fly. I was on my own so you wouldn’t fly. I would have been happier with a shorter flight to see the capes even. All people are to you and your company is the dollars you get and the maximum butts you can get on seats. Not customer service, which will ultimately keep you in business. Hopefully that business strategy of maximum bums on seats sends your business broke.
You will never get my return custom, and you’ll never get any of my friends or family’s business either.

We are sorry to hear about your experience and the effect it had on your Tasmanian trip.
Please note: from your first inquiry and through your booking process and pre-arrival, we were 100% transparent and advised multi-times that we required a minimum of two guests for this tour to be confirmed. This is not discrimination against solo travellers, this is due to very high operating costs within aviation sector, we are a small local Tasmanian business, and unfortunately it is not possible to operate the flight with only one passenger.
This is clearly explained in our Terms & Conditions sent to you upon booking. Our aircraft has 7 guest’s seats however we only sell up to 5 guests on this tour, as it guarantees a window seat for everyone, providing great views and a great experience.
Our staff spoke to you on multi occasions via email, phone, TripAdvisor messenger, and in person, our goal was always to accommodate you on this experience, or offer an alternative option. This was evident when we reached out to you and rebooked you for a flight as soon as it became available with other guests.
You had originally booked through an agent, and consequently we were unable to process a refund as they handle all payment transactions when booked through them. This often takes a few days, hence the delay in getting your first booking refunded from them.
As advised on Wednesday 23rd, the morning of your second scheduled flight, the weather conditions were not suitable, nor safe to complete the flight of the Three Capes Panorama. Tasmania’s weather can change very frequently and quickly, and again we do apologise for the last-minute cancellation which was completed in accordance with our terms and conditions.
Once again we do apologise that you were unable to complete a flight with us during your stay in Tasmania, despite our best efforts combined with the inclement weather, it just wasn't possible this time.

A window in the weather allowed this long-planned trip to eventuate. A walk from our downtown hotel and we were aboard the super comfortable sea plane and in the safe hands of our pilot Henry. Comfortable flight with great views all along the south coast and an informative narration from Henry. Magic moment as we landed on Port Davey and taxied into a secluded cove. Well-warned to dress warmly and prepared to get wet feet we were happy to wade a short distance to a sumptuous celebratory picnic in this utterly enchanting natural wilderness. The flight back was even more momentous with breathtaking views of the raw glacially-carved highlands of SW Tasmania. Craggy peaks dusted in snow and dancing rain squalls backlit by the sun lent a surreal theatre to this majestic landscape. Safely back in Hobart after an unforgettable few hours. A unique experience that is thoroughly recommended.

We did a charter flight with Lee on 13-01-2023.
What a great day out - it was a real highlight in our trip.
I wasn't sold on doing a flight because it seemed like you'd just seem some coastline from the air and then come back again.
But Lee took us to a beautiful location and landed in a secluded bay with a pristine white beach. Our family and friends all enjoyed relaxing and swimming and eating the picnic that had been prepared for us. Afterwards we returned and Lee showed us more sights from the air. He's clearly a very skilled pilot, but also was personable and didn't make us feel like he was just processing anther tourist client as quickly as possible. A really memorable part of our trip to Hobart.

Bathurst Harbour & Port Davey Destination Flight.
What an incredible experience. The team at Above & Beyond were so helpful throughout, from enquiring, booking, accommodating food requests, the lead up to the flight, and during the experience. Our pilot Lee is an awesome person and the perfect person to take you on such a beautiful flight.
Can not praise the team enough on their communication and commitment to making the trip not only memorable but easy to arrange & sort details out. The food was delicious and there was no way you left hungry.
Couldn’t of picked a better experience to surprise my partner with.

We highly recommend the Above and Beyond Tasmania Sea Plane experience. We flew from Hobart to Bathurst Harbour where we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the South West Wilderness. It took our breath away. This part of Tasmania is more vast and spectacular than people realise. We landed on the mirror like Harbour and were dropped off on an island beach to enjoy our picnic lunch. The friendliness and professionalism of the team was very much appreciated. A must do for locals and tourists alike.

I've just returned from the Bruny Island trip in the Cessna Caravan with my adult Grandson.
No words can describe the totally positive adventure we've had today.
If you're local like us, or a visitor to Hobart, you need to take a flight and experience it for yourself.
Thank you to the lovely young lady in the office who doubled as a competent line handler for departures and arrivals.
Thank you also to our pilot Jethro, your local knowledge that you imparted to us via a nonintrusive commentary was exceeded only by your superb flying skills and boat handling abilities.
Thank you for a top day, Clive and Jake.

Rang up on the off chance we could go up that same day. We were called back quite quickly and a flight was on.
Seaplane take offs and landings are smooth and this was no exception. The views were brilliant, you have no idea how craggy the coastline is until you see it from above. We saw Bruny island from land the next day and enjoyed the dual perspective.
Lovely flight, on just our second morning in Hobart - our Tassie holiday has begun!
