What an incredible experience!
We decided to go with Franklin River Rafting on the recommendation of my son, who spent a year in Tasmania in Outdoor Education and mentioned Elias and his team having a stellar reputation for expertise and safety on the river.
With Elias' excellent communication, the unbelievable skills and experience of our guides Eric and Ben, and a river that takes your breath away every moment, it was a perfect journey.
Exceptional value for money with top quality gear, great food (various food intolerances perfected accommodated for in our group), the expertise of the guides and so much more.
It's tough, adventurous and breathtakingly beautiful - the Franklin River Rafting crew made it all easily achievable and an absoulte joy. Thanks team!

This was truly a wonderful experience in an extraordinary landscape. The river will stay in your dreams for awhile after! The hike to Frenchman’s Cap is a MUST specially if you like plants. The trip was so well organised and thought out and the team are obviously a very professional outfit. For someone naïve to rafting I was fortunate to have Jordie and Paul as guides. They made us feel safe, cared for and overfed all whilst providing excellent knowledge and maintaining a persistent peppering of dad jokes. You’re the best!

I’ve always been fascinated by the Franklin River and had it on my wishlist of wilderness adventures for as long as I can remember. It was just a passing conversation with a mountain bike shuttle driver at Derby a few years ago that really set the sead in my head. This driver told me of a small family outfit who guided trips down the river. He told me they had great equipment, great cooks and really loved the river and did it for all the right reasons and that it was an adventure of a lifetime. Everything he said was right. You ring Franklin River Rafting you speak to owner and head guide Elias. You get out there on the river and his partner Franzi is guiding you through the rapids yelling instructions and keeping you safe. All the other guides on the trip were experienced outdoor adventurers and great camp cooks. The food is amazing. The river is the most amazing wilderness, isolated , pristine, untouched, wild, beautiful and inspiring places. You have never enjoyed being wet this much. The guides were all really knowledgeable about the history of the river and the fight to save it in the 70’s and 80’s. This really adds to the experience. You’re not just experiencing one of the most beautiful grand places you’ve ever been. Your seeing a place that was nearly lost forever only 40 years ago. Nearly a year later I’m still buzzing and nearly can’t quiet believe that I have actually paddled The Franklin River in Southwest Tasmania.

Pretty sure I was stoked on life & nature for every single minute of this trip. It was such a perfect balance of all things great. So many laughs & good memories that I generally can't fault it. I cannot offer enough praise to our beautiful guides/cooks/local heros Alyssa, Jordie & Eric who were such champion souls that made the experience that little bit more special. From my last minute booking to the very end of the trip these guys showed nothing but a perfect professional outfit that I would happily recommend to anyone. Feeling humbled & blessed & so bloody happy. Thankyou Franklin River Rafting....You go alright ☺️

A superb way to experience pristine forest environments, sensational river features and a killer mountain "Frenchmans Cap", wildlife from spotted quoll, platypus, sea eagles and dolphins- hell yeah- ... hit it up.... cranking the rapids with supremely knowledgeable guru guide Jordie, and legend, Paulie. Franklin River Rafting was recommended to us, and they lived up to it. Everything from pre trip info, the booking process, hassle free logistics and sensational food on the trip was awesome. Highly recommend.

This was a return visit for me to the Franklin, 30+ years in the making.
Last time, a university student on a bushwalking trip.
This time, accompanied by my 25 year old daughter, a birthday present to both of us.
From the very beginning I had a good feeling about the trip. Jack and Eric, our two rafting guides, were so open, friendly and encouraging that many of my daughter's pre-trip nerves were replaced by smiles and laughter.
We won water level lotto, with pre-trip rainfall providing us with 'Goldilocks' conditions, just right.
Each day we were treated to a spectacular range of meals, produced with a flourish from a range of eskies and waterproof barrels ... Jack and Eric taking quiet (and sometimes not so quiet) pride in their efforts.
The trip was everything I had hoped for, and a wonderful shared experience that my daughter and I will treasure forever.
Thanks to Elias for all of the pre-trip organisation, and Jack and Eric for their care of our group.

With 7 family/friends and a group of 4 guests from NQ, we just spent 8 days rafting down the breathtaking Franklin River. What an awesome experience! I highly recommend Elias and the Franklin River Rafting crew of Mitch, Grace and Jarryd who expertly looked after us and guided us down the Franklin. Their competence and care for us was first class. While it is a wild river, we always felt secure and confident of our guides ability and judgement. Not only can they guide but they can cook - they fed us like kings and queens, and were all personable, engaging and fun.
It’s hard to find the right words to do justice to the 8 days we spent on the Franklin. The sheer beauty of the river and its surrounding forests, sheer ravines and majestic mountains remind you this truly is a wild place. There are few adventures you can go on these days, with no prior experience, and be so immersed in the middle of wilderness. Not only that but we had a ball, laughed, looked in awe, learnt and absorbed the beauty of the place. Thanks Elias, Mitch, Grace and Jarryd. You and the Franklin are awesome!

This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Rela, Alayne, and Mitch were such good and competent guides. Over 8 days they showed us the beauty of the Franklin River and its wilderness, teaching us about the history, culture, and wildlife. I was impressed by their skills in group leadership as they helped bring our entire group of strangers together into friends over the trip. The guides also professionally and successfully managed each individual’s needs and personalities. The guides made space for each person to be more or less involved with the difficult aspects of the trip — challenge by choice — based on comfort and ability levels. This trip was so well run and organized, and I would recommend Franklin River Rafting for anyone, regardless of previous experience, who is interested in experiencing the beauty of this land.

Our group of 18 to 70+ year olds had very good water levels and great weather that made a great 8 day rafting experience even better. FRR is a highly competent and friendly organisation. I appreciated the excellent pre-trip information, the high quality kit loaned to us and used by the crew, the strong emphasis on safety, and the delicious food. Our experienced and friendly guides, Sean, Paul and Ben, looked after us, allowing all the group to enjoy the excitement and beauty of this rugged and unique part of the world.

A ten day trip on the Franklin was the most remote and pristine wilderness experience I have ever had. Franklin River Rafting got everything right - the best rafting gear, amazing camp food, and exceptional guides. It was exciting, beautiful, often cold (but we had a warmish day to go for a swim), heaps of fun, educational, with the serenity of being away from news and social media.
Franklin River Rafting are the specialists for this trip. They know everything about the river, the environment, the rapids, the history, and how to be comfortable in south west Tassie for a week and a bit. I loved it and am working out when to book my next trip.
