An expertly organised guided walk that went smoothly like a well-oiled machine. We only had to carry our packs on 2 days, which contained our clothes and personal belongings (enough for 4 days) and a few things provided by the company including a liner to go inside the sleeping bag (which was already in the tent when we arrived), a couple of towels and soap, and a head torch. No shower while camping of course, but we were provided with warm water for cleaning, which did help. I was looking forward to a proper shower in Darlington, but unfortunately the showers were closed for renovation at the moment. That said, there was plenty of (cold) running water for personal hygiene at the penitentiary, so no big deal. I was particularly looking forward to seeing the famous Maria Island wombats, and wombats I did see! We happened to be an all-girls team, including 3 of us on the tour, and our guide young Lucy was delightful. Stan was busy working behind the scenes to take care of all the logistics including transportation, accommodation, meals etc, and even found time to take me on a 'grand tour' of the island while my more energetic tour mates climbed up Mt Bishop with Lucy. Senna was industrious 'further behind' the scenes (we didn't get to meet her in person) producing our daily supply of homemade goodies in the form of baked goods, chutneys, desserts etc. Our 3-course dinner each night consisted of pre-dinner drinks and snacks, a sumptuous main course and dessert. The only thing they 'failed' to deliver was Tasmanian devils... :)

We had an AMAZING holiday on the Overland Track, starting 17th Feb this year. We have so many happy memories and we both had a wonderful time, including the friendship, hiking experiences and amazing food Stan prepared each day for us. Big thank you! And of course the views and scenery was abdolutely stunning. We will always remember our Overland Track experience as a treasured and unique opportunity to visit a World Herirage area. Because of Stan's expertise, he could explain so many of the special features of the area. His knowkedge is outstanding. We would strongly recommend this unique holiday.

Have just completed another brilliant walk with Stan and Tasmanian Hikes my 3rd. This is the best way to walk the track. You still get the satisfaction of "independently" walking carrying everything except your food which due to strategically placed food drops is often fresh and always nutritious and delicious. A reasonable level of fitness is good but don't be put off if you are of average fitness you can do this walk. The side trips are spectacular with Dalton and Ferguson Falls breathtaking in their beauty. The remoteness and beauty of the Central Plateau meust be experienced. Highly recommended by my wife and I. Thank you Stan and Tasmanian Hikes

The views from the summits particularly Mt Jerusalem and Solomon’s Throne were incredible. We had excellent weather with no rain. Camping and the sunset at Dixon’s creek set amongst the pencil pines forest with majestic views of the Walls was spectacular. Other campsites along the rivers were always wonderful. A eerie misty early morning camp at Lake Adelaide was so beautiful.
