Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The right of way drive has been blocked off and therefore vehicles can no longer park in the lower carpark.
Absolute disgrace, as this is the only entrance for people with disabilities to park their vehicles whilst visiting this fantastic site.
Something needs to be done!

Visited this battery as a point of interest.
Very interesting and lovely views but more information about the place, building, storage areas, tunnel and the workings would add to this tourist site. There is a lookout up the top which gives brief information but nothing really about the actual site etc.
All the same a interesting place to visit and ponder about
We saw a marriage being conducted there the day before which would have a beautiful outlook given the views to the city and the mouth of the Derwent

Very interesting place of local history, the views from the lookout
are magnificent. Fragments of the original site are still visible.
Large grassy area for the kids to play on.

A beautiful view up the Derwent river, lovely grassed spaces to sit and just enjoy. Interesting information about the battery, and parts of it still there to explore. We came upon it by chance so sinage poor.
Worth the drive up the hill to see it though.

If you follow google maps it will tell you to park at the bottom of the hill. It is hard to find from there as you have to walk up a private driveway and then off to the park. If you park at the top of the hill as you walk down there is a large hole in the ground that leads to a tunnel about 30 metres long that goes into the gun battery

Nice views of the river DERWENT. History of the area is interesting. Quiet location, nice for a picnic if good weather.
