Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

John was a fantastic host and was very knowlegable about the history of Hobart. We did the Richmond food and wine tour + Mt Wellington. We had a wonderful day and the personalised touch made my husband's birthday extra special. We also did the Bruny Island tour and again John was a great guide we would highly recommend John and his company and would love to come back and do more. Thanks so much John.

We did a private Bruny Island tour with John and had a great day. We were picked up in a very well looked-after Mercedes equipped with umbrellas, bottled water and hand sanitiser. John was an exceptional tour guide - he started by telling us that “nothing’s a rush today” and he meant it! We visited some great places and despite bad weather had a thoroughly enjoyable trip. Highly recommended!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a tour to Bruny Island with this firm. My goodness where do I start? We tasted the most devine Whisky at a local cellardoor, enjoyed a fresh seafood luncheon (Tasmanian Seafood is the BEST!!! incredibly fresh) and if that wasn't enough a fresh Oyster and Cheese platter as well. Oh my goodness I have a new love - Tasmanian Cheese! Our tour guide was exceptionally friendly and professional as well which made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. If you think all the above wasn't enough we also enjoyed a local chocolate tasting and with very full stomachs got to see Wallaby's hop around with their babies. I never realised how huge Bruny Island was! Last of all we also got to taste some local honey and learn about the local bee keepers too. We did not want this tour to end!

We were fortunate enough to take three tours with Tasmanian private tours during our stay in Hobart. John was knowledgeable and very personable. The tours of Bruny Island, Port Arthur and Russell Falls were magnificent and are highly recommended. I will use Tasmanian private tours again when in Hobart next and can't recommend them highly enough.

We booked the Port Arthur tour with John. What a fabulous day! John is a great guide - he is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. His experience as a guide was evident in the places we visited and the background information he gave us. The day went so quickly - wish we had booked two days as we thoroughly enjoyed his company. Thanks John - your tour was truely a highlight of our holiday!!

We were fortunate to do 4 tours with John this visit to Hobart. From Bruny island to Huon Valley we saw spectacular views, ate delicious food and took part in amazing activities. John can curate your trip, we visited some lovely antique shops on our travels. John is knowledgeable about the areas he takes you to and is very amiable. I highly recommend touring with Tasmanian private tours.

John collected us in a Mercedes van as scheduled at 9am. A beautiful drive out to Tasman Arch, Devil's Kithchen and the Blowhole.
Tour included Port Arthur entry and tour. We opted for the boat cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a private tour, provided by Carl.
A stop at The Lavender Farm for afternoon tea on the way home. We were happy to skip the stop at the Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry, which was also included.

Oh what a magical day myself and my 4 girlfriends enjoyed with John, our driver and experienced tour master. John pointed out the best Hobart has to offer and was very patient with giving in to our requests for coffee and was generous with his time waiting for us all. We visited Mt Wellington, Richmond and we all thoroughly enjoyed the Wine Tastings. This was truly a wonderful day and money well spent. Many thanks John.

John was fantastic. Great communication from the get go, helpful and very reasonably priced. He managed to find that balance of being friendly and passing on his knowledge with not being too imposing and letting us do our thing. I would highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again if I was in the area.
