Start to finish, very professional! Bookings, transportation, personable (and knowledgable) guides, all top notch. We had varying degrees of personal fitness and Chloe and Jazz did a great job of managing us all! And a surprise visit by head honcho Paul made our last night special (probably because of his blueberry pancakes)! If you want a guided walk on the Overland, I would highly recommend Wilderness Expeditions...I hope to do another walk with them the next chance I get!

We recently returned from 6 superb days in the Wilderness expertly lead by Jazz and Nick, two of the most inspiring young guides you could ever wish to meet. If you are contemplating this company, contemplate no further. The equipment is top notch, you can literally arrive with only your boots and a couple of sets of clothing, the rest is supplied for you. The packs & tents are lightweight, the clothing clean, high quality and every size is catered for. Communicating with Paul (the owner) was always easy and any questions or concerns were promptly answered. The food is second to none, Jazz and Nick conjured up food from seemingly nowhere, what they carried in their packs was nothing short of miraculous. Every morning we were woken with a coffee placed outside our tent door whilst the porridge was brewing (nut and fruit laiden goodness). Every meal was healthy, plentiful and fresh. We had a vegan and vegetarian on our walk and they too were catered for (so no mean feat.) On the 3rd evening Paul trekked 2 hours into the camp to deliver more fresh food, & on one particularly memorable evening Jazz and Nick blew us all away with cheesecakes they had made earlier which set in the icy river (inside a bucket with a lid!) The track itself is varied and challenging, you definitely need poles. We were absolutely blessed with the weather and managed to do all the side excursions suggested (Mt Ossa, Cradle Mountain and the waterfalls). There were 11 people in our group of varying ages (25-57y) all of whom were able to walk at their own comfortable pace, one guide always being at the front and one at the back. Jazz and Nick had an infectious enthusiasm and love for the wilderness & both spoke highly of their boss Paul who also shares this passion. Being at a camp site added to the social aspect of the group; much hilarity on the first evening erecting our tents, then mutual admiration as the week progressed and the set up/pack down became more slick. I was a definite non starter on the camping front but successfully talked into it by our friends.I can't believe I am now proposing others do the same. If you get the chance, do it, you will not regret it. It was a magical week, we have already got our diaries synced for the next!

Recently completed the Overland Track with WONDERFUL guides taking care of everything so professionally- Nick and Jas. We completely lucked out with exceptionally good weather for the whole trip so were able to do all the side trips, which increased our enjoyment no end - a rare occurence to do all the side trips given the usually unpredictable weather! Nick and Jas work so well as a team, the equipment that Paul (owner) supplies is top notch and works really well. The efforts that the guides went to, making sure everyone got the very most out of the trip were above and beyond.. Campfood and the meals they came up with were filling, nutritious and very creative (cheesecake for dessert, cooled in the river, fabulous) .. no-one went hungry, the portions are very generous. There is always water to fill up from creeks and streams along the way, but they always carried extra for us hikers - much needed whilst climbing Mount Ossa - on top of all the other stuff they carried - and made it look very easy too, nothing was ever too difficult for them. They shared their love of the land with flora and fauna info along the way. Our group was fantastic together - 11 in total - there are plenty of opportunities during the 6 days to walk with everyone and chat, or walk solo - there was never a feeling of hurrying everyone along, nor feeling we had to wait for the others, Nick or Jas were out front or back taking care of everyone. Don't ignore the signs and advice about Currawongs getting into your bag... nor the advice to place all snacks in the middle of your tent each night if you want to avoid the possum raiders in the night! Much hilarity from our camp area on the last night by the determined possums. Brilliant trip, made extra special by the partnership of Jas and Nick looking after us so well, plus having complete confidence in the equipment Paul provides - oh, and the 4 days of blue skies/ 2 days of patchy blue skies and only 10 mins of rain whilst we walked, talked, puffed and panted up and down hills. Do take poles, the terrain (especially the last 2 days) is rugged and irregular underfoot - many tree roots/rocks along the way - its not all groomed boardwalks like you see in the tourism photos - and who would want it to be. This is wonderful wilderness to be completely at one with - many many wonderful vistas to enjoy on this bucket list walk - don't deliberate, book it! I can't recommend the walk, or Wilderness Expeditions, or Jas & Nick, highly enough.. Oh, and if you can afford it, treat yourself to a night at the Pumphouse Point at the end... well worth it.

Finished 6-days Overland Trek with WET, guided by Chloe and James on 23 February. Having fitting of equipment and they provided reasonably good gear except the rain gears that they might have to upgrade them or re-do waterproofing. Reason of saying this was that the weather has been bad on Day 4 which we all soaked under rain and it was so cold. The rain gears were ok when it was drizzling but when it was raining whole day, they were not working too well. Very good that WET gears are light which making our pack easier to be managed. Also, our guides were carrying all our food and cooking equipment which helped a lot as we didn’t have to carry them which will make our packs much heavier. We went as a group of 8 ladies and having 3 other ladies joined the trek. Chloe and James took very good care of us which made our trek lovely amidst the rainy weather for the first 4 days. We had quite some dietary preference among the group which is more than 4 different dietary, however, they had done a great job and Paul, the leader who prepared and designed our menus has done a great job in catering the needs and feeding us all very well. Chloe and James were so sweet that they always made sure we were fed before they had theirs. Feeling bad sometimes, they seemed to be having meals cold when it was cold at night. Both Chloe and James are asset to WET as their passions and genuinely loving the nature have been touching. They care about the plants, small animals and literally you’ll be influenced by them!! Chloe is a sweet and loving girl, always reminding us on our safety and ensuring we were all well. Very cheerful and sharing with us the specials in the forest, woods and creeks. Her love to nature is infectious. You’ll love her immediately when you start your trek with her. James is quieter boy than Chloe but he’s very much into details of everything happened around. Taking care a lot of cooking and having passions in the trek. He is a bushman and he loves the nature! Having everything the basic way! How simple he needs for himself which touched me as his gears are not fancy at all and he recycled trash he found at trail into his own unique hiking pole! Thank you so much for WET arrangement and definitely highly recommended to others!!!

Thanks for your review RL_Explorer, Chloe & James are a great asset to the WET team : ) They have just the right mix of experience, empathy and passion. Yes, you did have a wet week, even by our Tassie standards. Apologies for the older coats in the group, even Goretex is at it's best only for a few washes. I'll look into that. Safe travels, happy trails.

Finished our guided Overland Track adventure on January 26th with Wilderness Expeditions, what an awesome experience! We were 5 women in our 40’s & we were in a group of 11 which included some inspirational people in their 70’s!! Not a lot of trekking experience amongst us, so at times there were some challenges. Mostly the climbs up Cradle Mountain & Mt Ossa, but wow were they were worth it!!! I would highly recommend doing both. We were blessed with great weather, which wasn’t so great for the bush fires all around Tassie, but meant that we swam so much more than I imagined we would! Both in lakes & waterfalls which were cold but refreshing & beautiful. Paul, the owner of the business, provided all our equipment & I believe plans the menu which is just wonderful! I imagined we’d be eating dehydrated food for 6 days, instead we got fresh quinoa salads, platters with cheese & sundried tomatoes, soups that were cooked on-site, cheese cake, pancakes etc. just so good! But what makes this company so great is the guides! Chloe & James were both just fantastic, I really don’t have the words to describe how wonderful they were. From the moment you wake until sleep that night they are looking after you! We wouldn’t have had the same experience without them. Chloe - has an enthusiasm for her job & adventure which is just infectious! She also has a beautiful caring nature & helps out not only her clients but anyone on the track who needs it. She has a vast knowledge of the area & experience to boot, need I say more! All this enables you to go outside your comfort zone with confidence. James - The quieter partner, but also a caring soul who clearly loves the outdoors! A cool cat that I don’t think would be fazed by much at all. He took us up Mt Ossa without a hitch & I had great faith in his knowledge & experience. These two really make a fantastic duo! So if you’re thinking of doing the overland track with a guide, you can’t go past Wilderness Expeditions!
