We had a lovely day on the West End Wildlife Tour, but it wasn’t anything we couldn’t have planned on our own and was a bit expensive for what we got. We went to Flinders Chase and Remarkable Rocks, but we definitely could have found those on our own. Our tour guide didn’t give too much additional information about the island. The best part of the day was koala spotting in the trees and the drive through a very kangaroo heavy area. I would only suggest this if you are short on time. Otherwise, it isn’t worth the cost.

Upon checking the list of our passengers on our booking system we did not find this passenger. We believe this passenger was on another tour. In Kangaroo Island we do have few different Tour Operators running similar itineraries.

Fantastic diurnal and nocturnal tour of Kangaroo Island, with the expert guide (and great chef ;-) Luca! Many animals could be spotted in the wild: kangaroos, koalas, penguins, sea lions, seals... And a beautiful view of the night sky, with explanations on the Southern Cross. Unforgettable!

The tour was amazing! We saw a lot of animals from sea lions to kangaroos, wallabies and koalas, and even an echidna! Luca is very nice and prepared, we learned a ton about Kangaroo Island and Australia in general. He also brought us to many breathtaking spots, beaches, cliffs and woods in the heart of the island. Last but not the least, he cooked for us a very good dinner. Really recommend!

We took part to an amazing daily tour with Luca, as our guide. He involved starting from the beginning of the tour till the end. Every detail has been planned accurately to make us happy!
We really enjoyed the full day. Everything has been so unexpected and gorgeous!
Of course, we will suggest this experience that is unforgivable!

A truly fantastic experience! I think the best one since our trip to Australia began!...The merit goes to Luca, who conveys the love and respect he feels for this wonderful island and its fantastic 'inhabitants'! Our hearts are full of joy at having seen kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidne, sea lions and fur seals in their habitat. We will take wonderful memories with us! Thank you so much Luca!

We had the opportunity to experience both a nocturnal and a daily trip with Luca’s Kangaroo Island Hire a Guide.
From the way he talks about the island and its wild animals, you can perceive his attachment and passion for both.
Luca is able to catch sight of a great amount of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, brush tail possums and blue penguins! Without him, for sure we wouldn’t have been able to distinguish and discover so many different animals!
We also got lucky enough to see a couple of echidnas, two stone-curlews with their babies and even a small varano!
During the daily trip, we had a couple of moka coffee breaks, accurately prepared in the well-organised trunk, and had a light bbq lunch cooked by Luca in a beautiful spot with Snelling beach view.
Highly recommended!

Luca is a very knowledgeable, friendly and enjoyable tour guide. He’s a long term resident of KI, guide, and previous national park staff.
He took us to the standard sites of the sea lion colony at Seal Bay and Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks at Flinders Chase national park.
However, because he has a smaller, 4WD Mercedes bus, he could take us to a lot of places off of the main road:
• which is where we saw lots of wildlife, including kangaroos, many koalas, including 2 who were no more than 10-15 feet away and 1 of the most beautiful birds we have ever seen - a blue wren.
• several beautiful and often secluded beaches.
If you’re going on a big tour bus, you’ll never be able to go to those places.
He prepared wonderful BBQ lunches with wine (Luca is Italian after all😀- no worries, he did not touch a drop.)
The cost of AUD$375 (c. US$225) per person for a private tour (with no more than 6 people) is well worth it.

Luca took us around the island to discover all the wonderful landscapes. He made us meet the incredible animals of the island while telling us the history of this fantastic place. We can only thank him and recommend his tour to everyone.

Hi, My husband and I looked at a map of the KI and have observed areas the group would enjoy with your guidance if the timeframe works. Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Little Sahara, Vivonne Bay, Remarkable Rock Formation (how long do people generally stay and observe this area), Murray Lagoon, not sure the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery would work since its north of Kingscote and the others are along Southern Coastal Rd toward Flinders Chase National Park.
We are a group of 4 from NY, USA and have already booked fights to and from KI on February 19, 2018.

Hi luca , we travelled with you earlier and were so impressed by the tour we are returning in march to do it again a friend of mine is coming as well lexi , she almost made the mistake of booking with another nocturnal tour company from penneshaw but they don't answer there phone so that was lucky , when lexi said she was booking the nocturnal tour i said yes with luca from ki hire a guide

Hi there, we have booked 2 persons for the 9 hour 4WD small group wilderness tour through our cruise, P & O, Pacific Aria, arriving KI on Wednesday 22 February 2016, would this be your company? Should we bring binoculars or do you supply them please. Do you supply drinking water on the tour or do we bring our own?

We do offer personalised 4wd tours departing from all the cruise ship coming to the island but you will need to book directly with us. For what I can see the cruise ship will charge a lot more if you book the tour using them ...
