Opalios has been mining in the Coober Pedy opal fields since 1973 and is still mining today. It is a family business that cuts all its own opal and creates its own jewellery on site.We have an experienced opal miner, expert opal cutter, and jeweller on site, and all our opal is cut to the finest standard. All opals and jewellery come with a written certificate, guaranteeing quality, value, and craftsmanship.Come and see Andrew, Stella and George for the best value opals.

The service - great little shop
Never looked at opals before and just wanted something for the kids.
Recommend by Dinky Di’s dugout accommodation - and was not disappointed
The lady explained all about the opals and was in no way pushy.

We have been advised to see Stella and George family owners of Opalios. The town is not big but I managed to miss the shop the first time but yes it is right at the entry of the town. Stella is such a beautiful lady with an incredible knowledge of opals. We were fascinated with her history arriving in Coober Pedy with her husband and She showed us some pictures of 40 years past . We are so pleased with the 5 pieces of jewellery we purchased which Stella designed . We also met George her son who also designs in the shop and had a lovely conversation with him too. All the pieces in the shop are hand made and one of a kind. Highly recommended if you are looking for something special and fantastic service and experience.

What a wonderful find. Stella and George were so generous with their time and sharing of the story of their family and knowledge of the industry. We felt so welcome in their shop and loved their stunning range of opals. I couldn't recommend enough, a visit to this shop. They are warm and honest. Absolute gems themselves.

Just purchased my perfect ring, not contrived, a perfect (in my eyes) stone and setting for me. Love this family and even got the explanation of where my stone was found and when 2004. please consider Opalios as one of the most genuine suppliers of quality opal in beautiful, individual settings. Thank you so much, so very Happy 😍

This place is awesome...!!!
The family business is small but the people are super friendly and the quality of opals are brilliant.
They explain everything to you and make you feel welcome.
We bought a set of earrings and left with a goodies bag full of souvenirs.
Can not recommend them enough...!!

The lady who runs this place was very lovely and friendly. She told me all about the opals, I was offered a free stone for good luck and then a box of free opal stones. After purchasing a gorgeous charm, I was then given a free kangaroo pin and photo to choose from. I would really recommend having a look.

Family business and very happy to educate about the beautiful stones. Could not resist and the bangle I purchased came with the story of how their late father found it, got some of earrings as well. Lots of opal shops selling quality products in Coober Pedy, this store makes you feel welcome and are very helpful. Well worth a visit especially if you intend to purchase. The Greek touch is wonderful.

We were on a family trip and stopped in to browse. Not long we were all buying opals! The owner showed us plenty of beautiful things. He was very friendly, loved his work and there was no pressure. I'm glad we bought here are very happy and received some small additionals. I loved the Aussie key chain, thank you! Highly recommended.

George was very informative and happy to share his knowledge and history. My daughter 11yrs nase a a small purchase of a ring and was given great care instructions amd George's mother Stella, gave her a bag of assorted gem stones, my daughter was delighted. Definitely worth a visit. Opposite Celebrations.

Warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Good quality products, at a very reasonable price. Handed out tumbled and polished gem stones to us gratis, and then when we purchased a couple of moderately priced products, gave us another package of tumbled rocks. Cannot recommend this wonderful family run establishment highly enough.
