Wonderful tour explaining everything I wanted to learn about opals and mining. Included a live demonstration of various mechanical tools and machinery

Was very disappointed with this place no guided tour available so they handed me a map and pointed out the highlights

Initially we tried to do a self-guided tour but I didn't feel I was able to explain sufficiently to my children the ins & outs of a working opal mine. And I was a bit lost down there - even using their map it was tricky to work out what was what. We had a medical appointment that clashed with... More

Really interesting to go into the different tunnels to see the workings of a mine and learn about the processes involved.

The mine and tour itself is fantastic and very interesting, including the exhibits and demonstrations that are seen in it. The lady that took us for our group tour... More

We were part of a group of 12 people - adults, teenagers and young children. The tour was very well run - great information and an opportunity to take part in various aspects of the mining process. Very friendly staff.

We wanted to take a guided tour, but they didn't have enough people to conduct it, so we came back for the afternoon one as we were told there would be a better chance. Well, no one showed up so we did a self-guided one - - and it was fun! We looked for opal in the rocks with a... More

My in-laws came from overseas to see the opals. My father in-law is a geologist and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the noodling outside for scrap pieces of opal.
