A self guided tour with hard hat to prevent a hole in the head from the low roofed tunnels gives one an insight into how it was done and how the miners and their families lived in the early 1900's.

We ended up coming here when another tour fell through and it was great! Even though it was self guided, we have a great time and it was really informative! We even got to do some noodling outside for some opal

The self guided tour of the opal mines is a great experience. Working your way through the confined spaces and have a look at the original living quarters. Well worth a look if your passsing through.

With map in hand it was a self guided walk on different levels. A Museum and an underground home to look through. Naturally if you wanted to purchase opals they were there as they are in most places here.

Not so big as this was - like the name is chosen - old times mine. At least you'll need one mine ... due to the fact that there is not so much more in CP, you usual make more than one. So fair but...More
