About
The highlight of 'Mad March' in Adelaide is without a doubt the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Starting in mid February, this month-long festival encompasses all things festive and artistic. Quirky music, dance and comedy performances from all over the globe are presented in venues throughout the city and within the outdoor centrepiece, The Garden of Unearthly Delights. With so much going on at one time, with not only Fringe events but also with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, WOMAdelaide, the Adelaide Cup and the Clipsal 500, your only problem will be choosing which events to attend!

All in all we had a great time, it is what it is as it always is with a captive audience.
It is a great place for varied types of entertainment. Great crowd control for such a busy venue. Definitely need MORE toilets. Some venues a little overpriced. Food is very expensive. e.g. 1 piece of fish & chips and 1 burger = $50. Can't pay cash but some vendors charge a card fee. Not shy on the drink prices either.
Cheers Anne - thanks for your review! So we can improve next year, we'd love to know - which venue did you attend? We'd be happy to pass on your feedback.

Good but could be even better
We love the Adelaide Fringe and this was our sixth year in a row travelling from the Blue Mountains and staying for 24 nights. The only disappointing thing was the non-existence of the Rundle Mall ticket office. When trying to book online on the phone we had to scroll through 80 pages of shows to try and book something when in the past we have gone to the ticket office in the Mall and asked for different shows to add to our retinue. Consequently, we didn't see as many shows as would have like to have seen as we could not be bothered walking all the way to Rymill Park to book tickets. We are both in our 70's and walking that far every second day was too time consuming as we had lots of other things to do and see. I hope this ticket office will return next year as we have already booked our accommodation and will keep supporting the Fringe.
Thanks for your review! Agree, it was disappointing we weren't able to have a Box Office in Rundle Mall this year, but unfortunately, we couldn't secure a site. Our Fringe Corner Box Office on East Terrace would have been your alternative port of call! Of course, we'll take your feedback on board and look forward to having you join us in 2024.

Needs fine tuning to make it world class
The buzz of the nightlife was fantastic. In saying that it’s disgusting that they charge a ticket to enter, especially when you’re paying the prices for the food and drink. Also, some one should be looking at the quality of the food as some vendors should not be there makes experience Not pleasant however, events like the piano bar and some of the three events were excellent. Not all of us want to go and see the shows we go for the atmosphere and expect quality food and drink at reasonable prices. If not, we’ll just spend our money in the city down Rundle Street, so please look at this Another thing I would look at would to have some more free events like fire flyers dances ect just to improve the excitement when you walk in
Thanks for sharing your experience! As an non-curated, open access festival, Adelaide Fringe does not operate any of the venues that participate in the festival, so we'd love to know which venue you attended, so we can pass on your feedback!

Such a fabulous festival. It's a visual wonderland at 'the garden of unearthly delights' & 'gluttony' beautiful parks in the CBD and both within walking distance from the city hotels.
So many great shows to see. A huge variety. Food, drink, and lots of happy people. It's all happening at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

The Adelaide Fringe is a huge positive for our city. I love to see comedy, dance and Acrobatic shows. The outdoor atmosphere is brilliant and Adelaide comes alive in February -March. There is so much going on at The Fringe and restaurants and Pubs are buzzing with atmosphere. I strongly recommend everyone to go see a show or two and six and relax eating great food under the stars.

Adelaide Fringe is a great event. There is something for everyone. The hardest part is choosing the events and getting friends to come along to enjoy the atmosphere and experience. There's always something or someone new so this is the perfect time to see these shows.

Overall a great festival.
Spoiled by forcing audiences to sit through ritual aboriginal welcomes to our own country at virtually every event.
We should not be forced to endure political speeches as a condition of attending.

FRINGE 2023

Congratulations on exceeding 1 Million tickets!!

I only have positive things to say.

MAGIC
Don Chambers - Fake Wizard was very clever, very funny, interactive and a wee bit naughty at the end. If hes back in 2024, its a must see. Great value for money.

MUSIC
Sounds of Simon - Dan Clews
A wonderful hour of entertainment. Dan is an extremely talented guitarist and singer. I loved the way he wove the story of Simon & Garfunkel into the visuals and songs. In fact, if you closed your eyes it might have been Paul Simon up there singing. A great show. Catch Dan at the 2024 Fringe! You wont regret it.

FREE FAMILY NIGHT OUT
And lastly our family night out courtesy of Unley City Council - A Night on The Green.
What a great night!! We had international visitors from Japan and Timor Leste who were very taken with the set up. (big screen, families on picnic rugs, food & ice ream stalls, market stalls and things for the kids to do). The weather held off as we ate our picnic dinner and listened to the live music and watched the movie SING 2.
Thanks Unley council for putting on a great show for families.

The concert we attended was fantastic however don’t have a partner with Leukaemia who has to cancel last minute attendance as you cannot get a refund.

Will never be going back to a fringe event again.

Hi Melanie, we’re very sorry to hear what you and your partner are going through, and sorry we were unable to provide you with a refund. As an open access festival, we act as the ticketing provider for artists, so any refund is at their loss, not of Adelaide Fringe, and we must follow our terms and conditions as guided by the LPA for this reason. We do hope you can join us at another Fringe event in the future to support the amazing artists that participate.

I loved being able to choose a show to fit my budget. We went to Kaleidoscope in the Garden, Vanlord at The Griffon hotel and Not dead yet at the Warehouse Unley road.
Kaleidoscope was great, fun and easy accessable.
Vanlord was brilliant, Matt was so lovely very nice guy.
No dead yet was a travelling group from Sydney, it was entertaining and definitely something I could relate to.
