Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Choosing my dream opal was a delight! Variety of gems, settings-just gorgeous. Anna’s knowledge, patience made all the difference! Thank you. Beautiful family business. Finding this gem of a store made all the time I spent pondering the decision, so worth it! Highly recommend.

I want to choose a opal pendant for my Mum so I come to this opal shop. Not only the sales lady explain three kinds of opals where they come from, she also give me lots of options to make sure this pendant would be something my Mun would like and fit my budget, I would highly recommend this shop to everyone.

My family and I are on vacation in Adelaide and wanted some opals as mementos of our trip. Loretta was very patient with us and explained the different types of opals, settings and answered all our questions. She even swapped out the earring setting for me. We also picked up a bracelet and our daughter picked out a couple of little rocks with opal bits inside. Loretta really went the extra mile for us and we couldn't be happier with our purchases.

It's my first trip to Australia, and as a guy who likes a bit of bling, I've always preferred more unique gems and stones (jade, for instance). Decided that a small opal ear stud was the perfect first investment into "serious" jewellery. Despite having done some research, I was still intimidated by opal's subjective and complex nature, but the warm staff at the family-owned and -run Opal Diamond Factory set me at ease immediately. They have a fascinating collection of jewellery and loose opals on display, and patiently entertained my questions and requests over a period of three days -- and I was making a relatively minor purchase!! Ended up with this beautiful black opal stud with an emerald lightning bolt flicker (or so I like to believe), from Lightning Ridge (I think). I'm just a bit sentimental bout leaving Adelaide now but at least I'll always have something to remember South Australia by.

After a lovely day exploring Adelaide we came across the "Opal Factory". The kids were thrilled to be able to noodle through buckets and buckets of raw rough opal and meet John who's giant photo of him mining, is up on the wall. We ended up purchasing a lovely solid black opal ring and John was kind enough to give the kids some free opal rocks. Great way to finish off the day.
