I think the best saying I've heard is that you can't make the paranormal just happen, otherwise it would be called 'normal'. This is so true for any Haunted Horizons tour. These tours are real, with excellent research into the history of a venue, and no funny business.
We visited Z Ward for a second time for a ghost tour and hunt. Kag ran the tour, with Damo backing her up. Kag is a great story teller and very engaging. The tour was informative and very respectful to those whose stories are being told. In regards to the paranormal though, all was reasonably quiet, with nothing too sensational happening. Just remember, it's not called normal.
The ghost hunt started off the same, but the group were in high spirits and a few jokes made early definitely set the tone. Ah well, if nothing was to happen tonight at least we were having fun!
We didn't try to chase anything when it was quiet, instead preferring as a group to sit and wait. Our patience was rewarded with some cool responses on the state-of-the-art equipment Haunted Horizons allows guests to use on the Ghost Hunt. We also started hearing some strange noises, made stranger by the fact that not all the group could hear them all the time. This was interesting because if the noise was from an external source, you would think we would all hear it, right? And it wasn't always the same people hearing things either. I found this phenomenon fascinating, but the noises themselves were even more interesting. Definitely not normal!
Thanks Kag and Damo for a fun night. We will be back again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your tour, it is very much appreciated.
All our guides are passionate about what they do and we hope it shows on the tours and paranormal investigations. Kag loves her job and wouldn't want to do anything else!
We look forward to welcoming you back to one of our venues soon :)

Hello! I attended the Z Ward tour on Easter Sunday with my skeptic-but-interested partner and we both LOVED it! Kag & Karen we're super informative not only about the venue & giving us the lowdown on history of the building and who was housed there but also the ghosty stories were fantastic. I have done ghost tours all over Europe and the UK and this was by far up there in my top 3. As for spooks for the night, we heard some creepy unexplained whispers, heavy breathing & unexplained knocks, my & 2 other attendees had our ankles tickled (which was very unsettling haha!), we had a couple back & forth answers to questions over the EVP's, EDI metres & cat balls light up almost instantly after asking "where are the handcuffs?" & "find the gate keys, lets get outta here". Will 10000% be booking Zoo after dark, Old Tailem Town & Adelaide Gaol and def be heading back to Z Ward, I need to find out more about this Henry character ! Thank you again!
Kag said you were heading across to the US and UK for more hunts, I definitely recommend heading up to Edinburgh & doing the City of the Dead tour first to get an idea of places to investigate, the story of the Mackenzie Poltergeist is chilling! Plus Edinburgh is just an incredible city if you haven't seen it before.

I can't recommend Adelaide Haunted Horizons highly enough.
I've been coming to the tours for a while now and they are brilliant. The guides definitely know what they are doing and keep everything real. No theatrics, just brilliant tours.
Even if we don't get something on every investigation, we still have fun anyway. If something happens every time it would be normal we're dealing with the paranormal here.
They are very accommodating of disabilities, I have a physical disability and I'm never left behind on any of the tours.
Also, check out their Facebook and Youtube for interesting videos and uploads.

We did a tour of Z Ward.
What a dark, creepy yet fascinating building.
The 2 guides Kag - who led the tour with sidekick Damo in support, were incredibly knowledgeable on the history of the building and some of those who resided here, an asylum for the criminally insane.
Plus they were able to promptly assist a guest who felt rather uncomfortable in the building, which shows they do put their guests welfare at the forefront of the tour.
Was an absolute privilege to be in such a location, all the lights out, sitting in almost complete darkness, there was a trickle of light from outside and just getting a sense of the vibe within the cold thick walls.
We were able to use equipment "as seen on tv" and get a real hands on experience.
Thoroughly recommend this tour and other tours with Adelaide'a Haunted Horizons.

If you're into ghosts, dark history and tales of the dark past there is no better company in Adelaide to use.
They don't put things on, what you see is what you get. Very friendly and knowledgeable guides make the whole experience so much fun and such a wide variety of venues from the railway museum, old Adelaide gaol to a homestead not far out of the city.
Very highly recommended for a different and fun night out.

Had a fantastic night at the Railway Museum in Port Adelaide with Haunted Horizons for a 4 hour Ghost Tour and Ghost Hunt.
Our tour guide for the night, Craig, gave a great tour for the first 2 hours. The tour is chock full of history, and some cool personal stories, all taken from the volunteers at the Museum. This isn't the kind of ghost tour where someone is waiting to jump out and scare you though, so if you're after that you need to go somewhere else. The stories are great though, and very interesting!
After a quick break, we got into the Ghost Hunt led by Craig. Again, nothing suss here with no gimmicks. Just some cool equipment like you see on the tv shows, but without the over the top reactions and no set up. We had some really intriguing things happen, we tried to explain some things but others remain a mystery.
Great fun for the night, with some fascinating and intriguing experiences. Will definitely go back and continue to check out the other locations that Haunted Horizons offer tours at.

Z-Ward tour was amazing! Whilst we didn’t have an “active” paranormal night, Kag was a fantastic tour guide and provided great insight into the history of the asylum.
This tour is great for skeptics, paranormal enthusiasts and those that love history.
We can’t wait to come again!

I have done a few tours with Adelaide Haunted Horizons and they simply just keep getting better. This time I opted for Old Tailem Tour doing the tour and investigation.
Alison was a great tour guide and knows so much of the place, she was great and gave us a good history of the ghost tales of the place. It was certainly worth the 200km round trip and certainly will be back after hearing and feeling footsteps in the hotel. Certainly was a good night, best ghost tour company around and they don't make thins up to get people in.

I’ve been doing the tours and investigations for many years now, and it’s always outstanding. Even if you have a quiet night, which sometimes happens, the history of the buildings always compensates, and never gets boring. My son who has wanted to go for many years, has finally turned 18 and couldn’t wait to go with me! He loved it too. 100% recommend.

Been wanting to go to Zward since doing the Adelaide Gaol ghost tour some years back. Booked but had to cancel due to Covid Lockdowns & finally booked again. Glad we did.
Absolutely overwhelmed by heaviness here – heart rate up, nauseous, weak legs. Had to sit most of the “tour” but still felt included. Felt glad it was a smaller location! Was well looked after by Damo :) Visited earlier in the day (National Trust History tour) & that definitely didn’t have that same intensity or heaviness that we experienced at night.
Saw a dark shadow dart across the windows on the top floor & had a lot of touching around head & legs on the ground floor.
Second tour done through Haunted Horizon's & would definitely use again. No “tricks for entertainment” here. You get what you get.
