A moving tribute to those who fell, particularly in World War 1, with the names of all (and SO many) killed listed inside the monument.

One was expecting a lot more of this in such a fine location on the edge of the city but as underwhelming as it was it still had a presence to honour those who paid the ultimate price in times of conflict

Large monument in North Terrace- lots of people use the monument as a meeting place or a spot to sit and rest. A nice tribute to those who should be remembered.

A memory lane next to the National War memorial Adelaide, beautifully set up from the War Memorial all the way to River Torrens, lots of memorabilia about the wars that Australia was involved, not that I like the involvement with wars, could have avoided all these killings, and waste of resources, instead of bombing, should be helping to build more infrastructures in all these countries for better living

Adelaide's National War Memorial is one of Australia's finest commemorations of the Great War. At the start of the war in 1914, the population of Australia had not yet reached 5 million. Some 60,000 men did not return from the battlefields of Europe and the Middle East. It was known as the Great War, as few people could imagine a Second World War of similar scale.

Located on a corner of a busy road maybe not the best location but it has been done really well.

Mainly built to commemorate WW1 it has added all other wars to it over the years, underneath monument is the name of everyone that served in WW1 along with some amazing stats like 8% of south Australia population.

Only downside was some grub graffitied the wall down below.

The area to the east of Government House was very well done and a fitting memorial to those lost in war. It ws well done and worthy of a stroll through. Too bad about some of the ''locals'' who were sleeping off the prior night in the gardens nearby

I love the way the names of previous service people are contained inside the National War Memorial in North Terrace. Even my young grandson was facinated.

The National War Memorial commemorates those who served in World War I. The interior lists the 5,000 young South Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice. I can still remember how impressed I was when I first saw it, many years ago. Why it is called the National War memorial is a mystery, though it might have something to do with the fact that the SA parliament was the first state legislature to provide funds for a War Memorial. It is now over a century since the end of the Great War, but some families sttill grieve for their dead.
