Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent a happy 45 minutes wandering through the stacks and reading the old maps at this historical site. Worth a visit as you explore the museums along this busy street.

Beautiful library in a city that seems too perfect to be real. Calm and clean (without the Melbourne craziness or Sydney tourism). If I were studying in Adelaide, I would visit it often.

T he State Library is not as big as Melbourne's State Library but it 1800s Mortlock wing is very nice to see. The older Institute Building opened in 1861 is a State Heritage Place

Great exhibition on contribution of Adelaide , particularly its women to democracy. Beautiful building well worth visiting when wandering around this very interesting historical area and university precincts.

It's a lovely library! Pretty to wander around, although the signage is not very good. Seemed to be quite a few people doing research and there is a nice exhibit of various times in the life of the city. Also, the Royal Geographic Society has space upstairs and will give you a tour of their collecction. Very interesting

I was doing research so it has things I can't get any place else, but maybe not for tourists. Glad they are open daily

Wow. The photos do not do this library justice. It is absolutely stunning.
Many very rare books and excellent coverage on the history of Australia including wine, toys, aboriginals, sport inc horse racing, art, and much much more.
Loved the place.

Just walk around and go Wow!
It is a spectacular library built in the old fashion way, and there are many themes either on display or available to see.

The State Library of South Australia is extraordinary. Before entering the old library there is a large exhibition which is changed regularly (when I visited it was about the 100 years of football). After recruting some help from a very helpful librarian in the new section of the library I was able to find the old library. Upon entering the 2 storey old library it was very overwhelming & beautiful to see so many old books. There are small nooks with tables where you can often see university students studying. Before leaving (at the main enterance) there is a section of the original Sate Library which is off limites to the public, but can be easily seen. The State Library is easily accessable when staying in the city & is a short tram ride.
