Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic atmosphere and great food from Asian culture you must visit and taste the local restaurant and shops. There is a central market for travelers to taste multicultural food as well

We had lunch in Chinatown after looking through Adelaide markets. The food was amazing and the staff very pleasant and helpful. There were many places to choose from but I was so happy we chose Ky Chow.

We visited at approx 10am on a Saturday morning and nothing was open, other than a small market stall at the entrance.
Typical Chinatown feel, quite small but clean

China town in Moonta Street between Grote and Gouger Streets, near the Adelaide Central Markets.
Two large Paifang, which were erected by the city council, are guarded by the Chinese guardian lions. These were donated by the Adelaide City council and the Chinese government. They mark the entrances at either end. Adelaide Chinatown consists mainly of Chinese restaurants, grocery stores and markets but also consists of many non-Chinese Asian restaurants offering cuisines of Indian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Nepali, Thai and Vietnamese origins.
Chinatown Adelaide has hosted the official Lunar New Year Celebrations in Moonta Street since 2003.

We frequently visit Chinatown to the food eatery. During lunch time on a Saturday, there's often a buzz. My family love eating at the Taste of China eatery. It's reasonably expensive for an eatery, however, they have lovely dishes that don't disappoint.
It's right next to the Central Market (which is fantastic for fresh produce), so, the whole visit is worthwhile.

A short mall next to central market- at 6pm on a Wednesday it was like a ghost town- only a few restaurants were open and not many people around. The street behind- Gouger (I think) had many more restaurants, people and more atmosphere! The actual bit within the gates is small and underwhelming.
Lots of great restaurants in surrounding streets.
Can be accessed by the 98 free bus.

The popular places had queues, locals knowing where they enjoyed brunch. Plenty of options, some places choosing only to open evenings as tourism impact due to Covid travel restrictions. Still fun area, one laneway under repair but negotiated way thru, backs onto central markets. Enjoyed the brunch I had at one of the establishments.

Not the best, some of it currently under construction but it has no Chinatown buzz to it.

Really just a few Chinese restaurant in a street and they have called it China town!!!!

Located next to central markets so easy to get to.

I would give it a miss.
