From the moment Steve collected us from our accommodation it was a fun day out. We were a party of 5 adult family members & 1 other couple & it was not long before we all felt like old friends.Steve is very experienced & knowledgable about his subject & shares his information in a very relaxed & amusing way. We visited 4 small boutique wineries around the Barossa & were treated to personal & interesting cellar door experiences in each. Lunch was delicious & helped to soak up the more than generous wine tasting from the morning session before we began again after lunch. The tour included a drive through some stunning scenery in the Adelaide hills on a very relaxed & chilled day out. Highly recommend !! Many thanks Steve . Linda & family.

Cellar Door Wine Tours provide an easy and accessible way to enjoy the various wine regions of South Australia whilst being transported in a luxury vehicle. We were picked up at Glenlg around 9.30am and were at the first winery in McLaren Vale 45mins later. Tim was our host on this occassion. Tim was able to impart his knowledge of the local areas history and locations which help set the scene for our journey around McLaren Vale. Great that CDT visited some of the smaller cellar doors which was more inviting and intimate. We spoke with the different generations of families who are all still heavily involved with their respective vineyards in some capacity. Wine tastings catered to everyones taste from white wines, rose' through to full bodied reds. Lunch was included and was a welcome break to just sit and chat within the small group of 5 on our tour. The cellar doors will even arrange shipment of your purchases to your home. This can be arranged at the last cellar door, even if you have purchased other wines for a very reasonable price (approx $22.00 to QLD)
Overall great day out with Tim and the other visitors.
My personal opinion is that I can guarantee you will have a great day out if you book a winery tour with Cellar Door Tours.

We had a beautiful day visiting the wine region of McLaren Vale! Steve picked up our group of 6 from our accommodation in Glenelg and we instantly felt comfortable as Steve is very friendly and easy to talk to. Steve is very knowledgeable about all things wine and also gave us tips about what to do, see and eat while in Adelaide. We visited 2 wineries, then stopped for lunch at an Italian restaurant, then another 2 wineries after lunch. All of the wineries were beautiful and the tastings were very generous (approx. 8 samples per winery). Water bottles and lunch were included in the tour pricing. We booked a second tour for the Barossa the day after and when 2 of our group members could no longer go we received a refund with no hassles. What a fantastic experience! Highly recommend Steve and Cellar Door Tours!

My friend and I recently did this wine tour with a group of people and we loved it! Steve was our tour guide and he was so lovely and accommodating, I dealt with his wife Karan when booking and she was really helpful and lovely as I had to move my dates and she was happy to help me.
Super good value for money, we did the mclaren vale tour and got to try 4 different wineries in the day and enjoyed a nice platter with our group.
Really recommend this company, super organised and genuinely lovely people who know what they’re on about and clearly have a passion for wine which is great if you wanna learn whilst you drink! :)

We had a great day out in McLaren Vale with Steve showing us some beautiful wineries where we were able to taste some amazing wines.
Steve was super accommodating of our requests and we appreciated his local knowledge. The wineries he suggested we see which did not disappoint and neither did lunch!
Our final stop for the day was a smaller winery were were were able to taste the wines with the winemaker himself which was a real treat!
High recommend Steve and Cellar Door Tours!

Steve was extremely professional and corresponded with us prior to the day to ensure he could meet our individual needs. Steve ensured the wineries we visited matched our personal preference for varietals and took into account which wineries members of our party had visited previously.
Steve was punctual and picked us up as planned in a clean and very comfortable vehicle. He was friendly and helpful all day. We never felt rushed and even when we were enjoying a particular tasting, he was flexible and accommodating to tweak a few changes in the itinerary without us missing out on anything.
Lunch was tasty in a lovely setting and we had plenty of choice and left feeling full, ready for another tasting opportunity. Steve was very knowledgeable about SA wine regions and the wineries in many areas. He clearly had a good personal rapport with many of the staff at the wineries we visited, in his role as a local professional tour guide.
We never felt any pressure to buy from any of the wineries but clearly Steve ensured we visited some amazing venues on our trip and we did manage to stock our cellar well from our visit.
We would definitely recommend this company and are already planning another tour with Steve and Cellar Door Tours, later this year. Thanks so much!

We had a fantastic day out with Cellar Door Tours with Steve as our driver. A friend and I did the day tour out to Barossa Valley, there was only one couple on the tour with us (who were lovely) so a nice small group, plus we all had similar wine tastes so it worked out very well. Transport was very comfortable and Steve was a great host with excellent knowledge of the area. We generally prefer white wines over red wines so Steve took us to vineyards with a couple of white wines and and many lighter reds, his vineyard selection was excellent and we enjoyed a majority of the wines on offer. It was a nice relaxing day out, there was no rush, we could take our time at each winery. We went to four winery's in total which was plenty, the fourth one was a bit of a squeeze as we really took our time at the others. We also did a quick cheese tasting and went to a resteraunt for lunch, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. What also made the day was the staff at the wineries we visited, they were all so lovely and knowledgeable about the wines and at some locations we even got to talk to the winemakers themselves. Would highly recommend a tour with Cellar door tours and would do another tour of one one of the other wine areas if I'm ever back in the region.

Had an excellent day with Tim on a bespoke small group wine tour. Would highly recommend as they cater for everyone and groups are small so you are very flexible where you go and what you want to do - not just wine but beer and great countryside. Good lunch as well.

We were extremely disappointed with this wine tasting - the poor girl who was serving us had no time to interact, she was so busy pouring for multiple tables. She was singing from a song sheet, I'm surprised she was old enough to serve wine :) let alone really know stuff. It looked very fancy and they obviously have a bigger advertising budget than some of the smaller wineries, but my friends and I prefer the personal touch.

We do not know who wrote the response to this review but it certainly was not us.
We are a Wine Tour Company in Adelaide, not a cellar door. We take our guests on tours of the South Australian Wine Regions and have no control over the staff at wineries, however we do work with some amazing winemakers and their staff, who are nothing like you have described and have never had this type of experience. Your review is aimed at one establishment, not a wine tour.
We feel that this review was not intended for us and do not know why it has appeared on our page

Such a great day in Mclarenvale! Tim our tour guide for the day was very friendly and very knowledgeable about wine and the local area. We visited multiple smaller family owned boutique wineries which were all amazing and tried some new varieties of wine we had never tasted before.
We were particularly impressed by the tasting and cellar door at olivers taranga (highly recommend you try their olive oil too)
We will definitely book this tour again when we are in south Australia and recommend to all of our friends

Hi. I’ll be arriving at the Adelaide airport on a Sun in Nov at 9.10am. Will I make it on time for your tour that day if I’m staying at the Adelaide Riviera Hotel? Thanks.

Hi Gako79,
Many thanks for your enquiry.
We usually collect from Adelaide CBD between 9:00am - 9:30am so as the Airport is close to the city I am sure we could make this work.
Please email me your required date so we can check availability and send full details?

How much does the tour to the barossa valley cost
Written 11 April 2015
Hi,
I did a tour with them in January this year, off memory it costed $160 pp, which had them picking up from our hotel and returning us there in the afternoon. We visited 6 cellar doors and included lunch.
I recommend it because the tour is small and never has more than 6 people.
Hope this helps

We will have 2 kids (age nearly 5, 10) and grandparents along with us, is this tour appropriate for all?
Written 19 January 2015
They are very accomodating and I 'm sure you would be taken to places suitable for the kids to come. We went to lovely wineries on large property. I would call them an arrange a suitable trip, you won't regret it.
