Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was having my morning walk and chanced upon this garden which is close to the central area. It is very green with lots of plants.

We enjoyed three drives past this beautiful park with its manicured greenery, outstanding displays of flowers and in-bloom shrubs, water features and sculptures. On each occasion we listened to our driver/guides regale us with the history and features of the area. The roses were a stand-out, brilliant blooms. On the Friday many families and children's were enjoying the activities or just having a picnic. We would both have liked to spend some time here, its a photographers mecca.

Spent a peaceful couple of house at the beautiful Veale Gardens, with stunning roses & nice walking paths. Very relaxing, peaceful. At the edge of Adelaide town, this is a place you must visit.

Veale Gardens are part of the "Adelaide Parklands", located in the South Parklands surrounded by Greenhill and Peacock Roads, South Terrace and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue.
You enter the gardens off South Terrace, has large areas of paths to walk on, numerous grassed areas to relax on, read a book or have lunch.
The garden features more than 50 varieties of roses on display; with the "City of Adelaide Roses" located at the South Terrace entrance; and the "Queen Adelaide Rose" at the corner of South Terrace and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue.

The garden has a serpentine canal in it and many water features. It is also home to the "Adelaide Pavilion Restaurant and Function Centre", which is often used for weddings and other functions.

I live in the neighbourhood and visit regularly. I am personal friends of the gardeners, who lovingly tend this large area. Fantastic range of plantings, including a huge range of roses. Great for photography. You can get to it on the free tram. Get off at South Terrace.

Adelaide Veale Gardens is a well maintained garden with a lot of diversity and has been a lovely spot for wedding and family photos as well as a quiet spot to sit and relax.

Veale Gardens is part of the Adelaide Parklands throughout and surrounding the City of Adelaide. It is located in the South Parklands surrounded by Greenhill and Peacock Roads, South Terrace, and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue. Consists of various theme gardens which are popular for wedding events. The conference centre is called the Adelaide Pavilion which features two spectacular rooms with floor to ceiling panoramic views of the gardens that accompany the wonderful French and Mediterranean inspired cuisine and attentive personalised service. The gardens are a short 15 minutes easy walk from the CBD or can be visited using the free tram service

This was a great afternoon meandering along the water path in the garden. The flowers are laid out in a colorful profusion along the green way banks where water features and water falls abound. When we found the fig tree hidden beneath the boughs of a giant we could see masses of parrots flying and sitting overhead and in nearby trees as if to tell us to buzz of so they could get back to work. I almost picked one myself, but held back in respect for the superiority of the garden. The greenery lining the canal looks so naturally occurring you feel it s a natural creek. The rose garden to the West side (I think) the Adelaide-Quingdao Rose Garden is superb. There is a lovely statue there that will have running water completed next week. Another water statue is Pan, more rough hewn than the Song of the Wind which is bronze and beautiful. Lots of benches throughout, we found a good amount of picnickers enjoying the great day also. Unfortunately the blooms are beginning to drop as Summer nears. The Magnolias are still in bloom and the Jacaranda trees still show off those rich lilac to purple blooms that I love to see along the streets on both sides becoming a lovely lane instead of fast moving avenues.

If you live in Adelaide, this is one of those lovely places you drive by and never bother to stop and visit. But it is so worth the time to stop the car and walk about amid the beauty of so many types and colours of roses. Even though you are near a main thoroughfare, it is quiet and tranquil.
