No convicts here! Take a step beyond sightseeing and discover the intriguing history behind this unique colony. Join professional guide Bob Brady for a comprehensive insight into the founding of this planned, utopian society. Along the way you will be introduced to the cultural precinct with its galleries and museums; take coffee in the majestic Adelaide Arcade; and mix with the locals at Adelaide’s famous Central Market. A great way to start your visit to this beautiful city. The tour is offered every day except Sundays and public holidays. Pre-booking is essential. The tour leaves the historic Strathmore Hotel on North Terrace at 10am and concludes at Adelaide’s famous Central Market at 12.30pm. The tour cost includes a refreshment break. Small groups are the norm. In fact the tour has no minimum so if you want to avoid the crowd, this is the tour for you.

So good to have had your company. An insight into your own history makes those walks through Adelaide's streets that bit more meaningful; it is such a unique place.

We think it must be. Bob is informative and personable. Acknowledging both Indigenous and colonial history. He gave us a real sense of the Adelaide story. Fascinating insights combined with a real feel for the characters that made South Australia what it is.

Bob was a fantastic guide, I really learnt so much about Adelaide's colonisation, key historical figures, landmarks and buildings. The tour was well-paced with plenty of variety and a pleasant stop for coffee.

It's a pleasure to introduce visitors to Adelaide's unique history. An interesting connection between South Australia and New Zealand with Edward Gibbon Wakefield being involved in both. Yep, my Italian friends know how to make great coffee!
