Since the buses from the western suburbs don’t go to North Terrace any more, I seldom go to North Terrace. But today I went by tax and was glad to see familiar buildings. It was rather quiet at around 10am.

North Terrace has a collection of statues of notable South Australians, and heritage buildings. There have been many South Australians who have made their mark on Australia. It is well worth taking a walk down North Terrace and inspecting the monuments. South Australia has a tradition of civic involvement, which began with the South Australian colonisation scheme of Edward Gibbon Wakefield, an English Quaker.

You can ride the tram free of charge along North Terrace Avenue. There are a number of historical buildings that you can view that now contain shops, a casino and other businesses. If the map from your hotel does not provide information on the buildings, take a look on-line to view the route.

If you are a tourist visiting Adelaide, you will probably be spending a lot of your time on North Terrace. From Ayers House on one end to the Railway Station/Casino on the other, this is where many tourist attractions are located. Even if your time is limited, take a stroll along North Terrace and admire the beautiful architecture.

Visited on Friday 28th February. We virtually walked the length of North Terrace checking out the old buildings, gardens and memorials. Best place in Adelaide to get a taste of the early history of the city.

Get on the Free Tram at Adelaide Hospital. Hop-On and Hop-off till you finish the day in the Botanic gardens. This includes the Government House (Old and New), Art Gallery, Museum, Botanic Gardens and a free Karaoke site for anyone who wants to sing in public. It also provides easy walking access to the CBD and high Street shopping in the Heart of Adelaide as well.

Spent a good bit of time visiting different places along North Terrace today. There is so much going on and so much to see, hopefully can make a return visit in the future to see the rest of this fantastic area. Lots of work going on to improve North Terrace and I am sure when completed it will be an even more appealing area to visit.

One sunny day as I was driving down North Terrace I decided to stop and take a walk. I have never appreciated where I live as I did on that day. I went to the South Australian Museum and bought a coffee and took a quick walk through it, and then onto to the Art Gallery. I then kept walking towards the university and just admired all the architecture and stunning buildings Adelaide has. I ended up stopping there again two weeks later on a glorious day and sat on the lawns outside the museum and watched children running around having so much fun. I love the beauty of Adelaide and now make an effort to walk more around the city. Also love going to the banks of the River Torrens with children and feeding the ducks. Adelaide has the most beautiful parklands. The only downfall is the parking - it would be nice to be able to enjoy a picnic during the week without the fear of being fined if you exceed the time limit. If you have some time take a stroll down North Terrace and you'll find yourself fascinated with the beauty, as in a car you don't get to appreciate it much as you do when taking a lovely stroll. You can do it on your own, you don't need to have company, as there's so much around you! Have fun!

So close to Tram, trains and restaurants. Just a street behind Hindley street which has lots of activity, bars, restaurants, supermarkets. Felt quite safe wandering around with the strong police presence
