This experience was a fun and novel Father's Day surprise that we will always remember. The cruise time we chose was 4pm and, as luck had it, we had perfect weather and a gorgeous sunset behind the city buildings as we fired up the BBQ. Having walked the area many times, it was terrific to spend time on the Torrens River for a different perspective of the city. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Navigating the buoy and the river (and the BBQ) all very easy and fun. Highly recommend this fun experience.

After having to put our original booking on hold due to bad weather in February, we had no issues re organising another night. Had the perfect night out, 7pm - 9pm.. we opted to take a roast chook and salads on our night out, we ordered a few drinks, on arrival everything was clean and ready to go departure was quick and easy , staff were friendly and helpful. What a relaxing beautiful way to see the city lights, do your self a favour grab some freinds and book a BBQ Bouy. 5 ***** from us

It's been a long time since I operated a boat and for this reason I was hesitant to book. Having said that when I finally did I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very helpful and I felt comfortable operating the buoy from the moment we left. The operators have a mobile number so no matter what the situation you can get assistance, also the staff were very clear in their instructions. The only advice I can give the operator is to mention that the staff have a contact number and a boat to assist you in any situation, had this been on the website I would have booked sooner. All up I highly recommend BBQ buoys, you will not be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our time on the BBQ Buoy! They got us set up quickly and came out to meet us half way through to get some great photos. The buoy was easy to handle once you got the hang of it. Overall a great way to spend a few hours eating and drinking on the river! Definitely recommended!

A friend of mine organised a session for 13 people, due to poor weather unfortunately it had to be cancelled (obviously that's not their fault, safety has to be put first so completely understand their decision). My friend asked about a refund and was told that we could either reschedule for another time in the next 6 months or only a 50% refund would be available. My friend explained that we were all from interstate for the weekend and no one was coming back, nor did anyone know someone we could pass that onto who lived in Adelaide. My friend was still told that he would only get a 50% refund. I can understand if we were the ones to cancel why that refund wouldn't be available, but surely in these circumstances a full refund would be due. So now basically my friend has given this company $200 for no services provided. I appreciate that they are small business and need to make money but surely this is the risk they take on, not the customer.

You will lose your money, guaranteed. Incredibly rude and arrogant staff. They made a mistake with the booking and refused to refund. Disgusting treatment. Stay away.

End of September you made a booking for the week after in early October. The same day of your booking you showed up at our station expecting us to be open and to deliver the service but on that particular day we were closed. ​
We acknowledge that the opening times on FB and Website were not align and you had challenges to get in touch with us when you were waiting at the station.
In order to firstly understand and then solve the unpleasant situation we requested on the phone your email booking confirmation to cross check it with the info we had in our system​ (for the week after)​ and we offered to come directly to the station to facilitate the booking should there be an error in our system.
The call was ended twice from your side which did not give us the ​opportunity to find a constructive solution for your group.
A refund was transferred into your account on the same day and my follow-up email, to confirm ​the receipt of the refund, from 4th October ​has not been answered either​ by the time of my response today.

My wife and I saw this earlier in the year and thought that we would like to try it when we return
We book it in as we returned in November. We booked the two person with the BBQ in the middle for a lunchtime outing and booked some wine to go with it. We brought our own meat and salad and the BBQ Bouy guys provided all the plates cutlery napkins etc. Even a Bluetooth speaker. They explained the operation and safety briefing and we had two hours out on the river. It's not difficult to use at all and we took our time, had a BBQ and cruised up and down the river sipping on some lovely beverages. It was a great 2 hours with a lot of fun and something different to do when in Adelaide. Would highly recommend this activity you will have a great afternoon/evening. Thank you guys we had a great experience.

Our trip was mildly horrific for the kind staff of BBQ Buoys. Their patience and professionalism was tested beyond their wildest dreams (nightmares). First of all, this is an excellent experience. It is good value, the river is beautiful, the Adelaide riverbank is exquisite, the buoys are clean and the service is so professional. A friend and I had always wanted to sail around in one of these, and she kindly bought me the experience as a birthday present. It is very, very important to state that NO ONE was drinking before, after, or during this event. However it emerged that neither one of us was capable of understanding how to steer the device. The poor staff kept towing us back to shore; teaching us again and again; getting the dinghy out to rescue us from reeds... eventually a rather aggressive kayaker sailed into the back of the buoy, and everyone agreed that we would be better off eating our (delightful) food in our buoy, moored by a reed bank. Then in a fit of ill-placed confidence we headed out for open waters. This demonstrated a lack of judgment on my behalf, and eventually the staff came and rescued us again. During this time, every other buoy user seemed to be floating idly past, waving and looking competent. I guess the moral of the story is that even if you can't steer it, the staff will rescue you over and over again with good humour.

Don't stress, you aren't the first and surely not the last but thankfully we are here to help and maybe suggest you idling and enjoying the scenery. I can confirm, no nightmares came from our experience with you and we are so glad you enjoyed yourself even with a few hiccups along the way.

We had a birthday party for our 13 year old with her friends. It was a fun party - teenagers enjoying bbq food and listening to the music while chatting away …. . I was driving the boat, no experience needed. It was a very relaxing ride . But I am glad I brought my elder daughter along so she can look after the BBQ while I focus on driving the boat . The scenery along the river is great, and with ducks / birds in the river, it was actually a very enjoyable ride. The staffs there on the day were extremely helpful. I think I will definitely do that again.

What could be better than a 2 hour, sunset cruise along the River Torrens during Mad March?
My family and I had the best night being tourists in our own backyard. We experienced the River from a view we had never seen before. Perfect weather, pefect views, the city lights reflected in the River, tunes on the Bluetooth speakers, a few bevvies and a BBQ. Thoroughly enjoyable experience that i would recommend to both tourists to our city and to us locals. The staff were friendly and the whole booking process was easy. Thanks BBQ Bouys.
