Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Attended 'Burlesque on a Boat' on the Dolphin Explorer. The singers were excellent and the dancers had incredible energy. I would recommend any Floating Melodies productions.

Only Emma Knights could conjure up the combination of a hot air Balloon ride with the very experienced Barossa Balloon Adventures, organising Brigitte Baden-Rennie to sing as we soared, with us joining in "Love is in the Air". The usual post Balloon breakfast topped it all off - a wonderful start to Valentines Day 2019. Floating melodies has been taken to new heights! Well done again Emma.

The day was kind - sunny and bright, and the cruise was well patronised. The singer was really good - as someone at our table said, she had an excellent grasp of French and her accent was spot on. The selection of nibbles was really enjoyable too, and well presented.

A very entertaining evening.
If you are looking for something a bit different, floating melodies can do it in a variety of ways. Previously we have been on the original Floating Melodies, then on the Pirates of Penzance cruise and this time we went on the Floating melodies 5th anniversary, progressive dinner.
The cruise starts from Elder Park and really doesn’t go far but that is not the point. With the very accomplished singers on board you hardly notice where you are but the constantly changing back drop of city lights is a wonderful stage.
The music was mainly opera arias, solo or duets with some music theatre and art songs as well. The performers gave a short intro to each piece which really set the scene for the emotion portrayed in the song, as many of the songs were in Italian or French (as you would expect for opera).
An entrée of hommus and pita bread style dips was served on board along with a glass of local wine. For main course we docked at the Red Ochre restaurant. Here we received more wine and a table charcoal grill of probably the best kangaroo I have ever eaten, plus excellent beef, and venison sausage. The vegetarians in our group were accommodated with a mushroom risotto.
Then back on the boat for the second set. The singers are both very professional and emotional performers and the time flew by.
Desert of petit fours was served at the Neon bar in the Festival centre. Here we were entertained with a more contemporary style of music from a vocal/guitar solo who was really comfortable getting involved with the audience. This was a great place to finish up as the guests could stay as long as they liked to continue with their new friends.

This early evening cruise on the River Torrens was an enjoyable, relaxing activity and the entertainment & refreshments made the whole experience a treat. David Gauci, a gifted baritone, sang hit songs from the 60s & 70s which he heard on the wireless as a child. His reminiscences of his childhood added 'colour' to his performance and as most of the audience knew many of the songs we were able to sing along which added to the enjoyment. The riverside views of Adelaide's Festival Theatre & CBD as daylight faded & the city lights came on were special. A novel way to enjoy our lovely city.

Enjoyed another fun night,my third, this time with local entertainer David Gauci who recounted some of the songs that shaped his time growing up in Adelaide-a great excuse for a singalong with my like minded travelling companions.
Delicious S.A produce to nibble-the mini quiches from O'Connell St Bakery were a great edition.
Thanks,and well done,Emma and team😊

This was our 3rd event taken with the Floating Melodies series on the Popeye, cruising along the Torrens River, while taking in the views of the beautiful Adelaide city. Every one of them have been a really fun event enjoyed in a great atmosphere. This last one called "Wireless", had us singing old favourites with accompanying friends, that brought back fond memories, while snacking on delicious cheeses, jams and small quiches. Also, something a little different this time, was the glass of mulled wine. Mm mm. Go Emma Knight's Productions.

Thank you so much Josie! The mulled wine is very delicious - and I had to eat all the fruit from the bowl at the end ;-)

Saw the Amicus string quartet play Handel’s Water music and an extended program of baroque and classical music. The ambiance was beautiful, the musicians played with immense talent and artistic sensibility. The program was chosen well and the experience paired with the wonderful refreshment included in the ticket price to make the short cruise through the heart of Adelaide’s northern parklands a stand out of the Adelaide Fringe Festival among 1000s of other acts. I’d easily recommend floating melodies to anyone.

I booked this for my family visiting the UK and they loved it, the singer was awesome, she sang Abba and Roxette songs which everyone enjoyed. The boat was full so there was a good atmosphere. The nibbles were themed swedish which was a good idea, though they weren't very plentiful and if you are lactose intolerant the cake wasn't an option - but hey we weren't on there for the food. The staff were good and it was nice going up and down the Torrens. My only small criticism is that the singer took a seemingly long break - given we were only there for an hour it could have been shorter. All in all, it was different and we all enjoyed it and the staff onboard were great and very helpful.

Hi! I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves! Thank you for coming on board! There is an option when you book to send any dietary requirements so if I had known I could have provided you with something different. I had two celiacs on board and had different desserts for them! If you let me know I can cater for any requirements at no extra charge :-) The cruises run for an hour and fifteen minutes with an hour concert so I apologise if that was not clear - I will make sure to note that more clearly! We use the break for people to talk, grab another drink and, for this cruise, to prepare the cake and serve it! I do hope you come on board again!
