Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took the Echo Camp Back Track which took us along the Arkaroola Creek. At the end of the track we turned left and drove to Paralana Springs. The track is a rough and has many creek crossings which were dry. It ends up at Paralana Springs.
The springs are not visible near the car park and it requires walking quite some distance into the bush to view the stagnant water. We did not see any bubbles coming through the water(as supposed to be), but it was also a very hot day 40C so could not stay long. This is a fascinating geological site as the fractures of the crust are probably over a billion years old. As the water surfaces, it is heated by rock and radioactive action. There are other chemical elements such as Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, Radon and Helium. These release of these chemicals that cause bubbles in the water. Another noticeable sighting is the algae that has formed on the surface of the water known as extremophile which can survive in high temperature and radioactivity.
It is advisable not to visit the site on a windy day as the Radon gas can be harmful. Swimming or drinking the water is definitely a ‘no no’. In most instance s the water is not inviting or deep enough to encourage anyone to take a dip.
Well worth a visit if you are staying in Arkaroola and want to do day activities around the area.

Unique little hot spring. Varied county on the way there, 1 4WD section. The drive there is part of the 4WD tracks

Paralana hot springs is simply amazing ~ breathtaking sites and one of the only hot springs in the world heated by radioactive decay in addition to a magmatic heat source. Went there with my dad and had an amazing time. Make sure you bring food, water and a radio in case something goes wrong (better believe there is no phone reception out there :P). Oh and a camera! :)
