About
With incredible views over the Whitsundays, and the only 18-hole championship golf course on its own island in Australia, Hamilton Island Golf Club is a destination in itself. Located on Dent Island, the Hamilton Island Golf Club is a 'must do' activity for both novice and professional golfers.

    Truly breathtaking views
I booked hubby in for a game of golf for a birthday present . Hamilton island golf think of everything. The only thing he took was his golf shoes . Everything else is included . Golf cart, clubs, tees, iced water and bottles in an esky The only thing we thought was a bit weird was they didn’t book him in with anyone else which is normally standard at other courses so it would have been a bit lonely had he not been able to join a couple of other golfers The views around this course are truly spectacular The course is difficult and you will lose many balls . Standard loss is 7-10

    Worth A Visit
We didn’t play golf but had lunch at the restaurant. The views were spectacular and the food , wine and service very good. Also enjoyed the boat trip over and back. Can’t understand the person complaining in another review about being told by the ferry master about the rule that men had to wear a collared shirt as this is clearly stated on the website where the booking is made.

    Fantastic experience on Hamilton Island.
Had a fantastic stay at Yacht Harbour Tower. each level has one unit comprising of four bedrooms which can sleep up to 8 to 10 guests. we were lucky enough to stay in YHT 2. the weather was amazing. lunch at the golf club was beautiful. travel on a boat from Hamilton Island to Dent Island. you are picked up in a buggy or a bus and driven to the Restaurant , they also gave a a tour around the golf course, a great tick in the box.

All in all a good day
On Saturday 24/6 I had an enjoyable day at HIGC. First staff member I met was Sam the skipper on island links, very professional, friendly and welcoming guy he was, really set a high standard for what was to come. The rest of the staff from golf ops, to bar and drinks cart staff maintained this high standard and should be praised accordingly! Now to the course itself, it is a very difficult course and even in near perfect conditions it's still very easy to lose 8-10 balls, put that aside, I felt it was the greens that let the course down a little and were the main reason for not getting a 5 star review

A Must for Golfers and Foodies
In terms of beautiful golf courses it doesn’t get much better than this but it’s tough! Arrive by boat into a simple but very nicely finished club house, bar and pro shop. (The ferry host was a legend who I’d loved to have had a beer with…he’d have had some stories to tell I’m sure). Excellent clubs available to hire - take plenty of balls and water. Undulating, well looked after course with consistent greens. After golf, dining is a must. Exceptional restaurant with incredible views and friendly service…thanks Molly.

We had a magnificent lunch served by lovely waitress's Tiana and Sally. Entree was oysters 3 ways which were all excellent. She had scallops, also beaut . Mains were beef cheeks and barramundi both very nice. 1 desert of affogotto which was magnificent . All wonderfully served by the lovely girls who recommended the desert.
This beaut lunch while overlooking the beautiful Whitsundays.

Love this course. Our 2nd time. Took some visitors from Canada. Had a great game of golf with the best views, followed by a yummy lunch at the golf club restaurant.

Absolutely would not recommend.
We were met at the ferry with a disgruntled man who told us we could not attend as I hadn’t had a collar shirt. I was never told I had to wear a collar shirt, had wed been told I would of worn one.
The man spoke down to us at the ferry in front of other guests attending and embarrassed us We left very uncomfortable with the way this situation was handled. We were very well dressed but didn’t have a collar.
Then we were phoned by the manager who was condescending and telling us we should of read the itinerary.
I wouldn’t recommend based on poor customer service and no professional manner whatsoever.

The greens are a dream to play on. The golf cart overview of each hole help a lot. The views are incredible particularly on the back nine (many people on my day stopped after 9 holes). Play it straight and have a great day. Lose your head and form and say goodbye to lots of balls. Some holes will have a gust of wind to contend with so play conservative when you should. It can be a real thrill landing on the fairway on some holes contending with crosswinds and narrow fairways. You have to try all 18 holes once in your life and at least do 9 holes every time you visit. I brought my own clubs and am not sure about the quality of the hire clubs on site. The party I was to play with called in sick after a big night prior, however I was not going to miss this day.
