Just Beautiful

Easily enjoyed from the boardwalk at Central Station. Pick a quiet time and soak up the experience. So clear it's nearly invisible.

The water is so clear in the creek it is almost invisible. All you see is it the white sandy bottom and an occasional ripple in the water. The walk along the creek is easy and very interesting. We had a guide to explain the history of the area to us. There was a huge Strangle Fig close to the... More

We visited Wanggoolba Creek on a one day Fraser Island tour. It is beautiful with crustal clear water - so clear that it is hard to see the water flowing on top of the sandy bottom. The creek is surrounded by rainforest and provides a relaxing and cooling walk on a hot day. Nature's perfection at work.

The walk from Central Station along the creek is 1.8km and a real treat. The water is incredible. At first glance I thought it was a white growth on the surface but when I got closer I could see that it was the sand bottom. How magical - almost like something out od the Lord of the Rings.

This natural wonder is the main reason for visiting Central Station. The water that trickles over the sometimes green tinted white silica sand is so clear that you need to look closely to see that it is there. Its passage is often obvious only where is is disturbed by an uneven creek bed, irregular bank or a fallen branch. Queensland... More
