A gorgeous garden full of interesting plants and trees-there is a quaint coffee shop for refreshments out the front and a few wallabies wonder around.Close to Townsville and free.I saw plants I had never seen before.

My only problem with this park is the no bikes rule (I understand, but wish......). Other than that it is perfect, nested between the Ross River and the busy University Road, it is an oasis. Idea when you have to get right away from the...More

Specialising in palms and cacti, this was an interesting and unusual garden. Not within walking distance of town, though.

It even smells like a rainforest. Beautiful walks through stunning plants. Lovely coffee shop and plenty of parking.

Take your time to enjoy these beautiful and peaceful gardens - the display is wonderful. There is a great cactus/succulent garden, as well as many palm trees and a rainforest section.

Good for a stroll, loved the African and Madagascan gardens, could not find the japanese garden? Nice bridges and plenty of seats and water bubblers

Lovely place for a cup of tea, local art to buy on the walls of the fabulous old school house that looks over the amazing gardens

Relax under palms, or enjoy high tea at this traditional tea shop. Next to the river, so can take a walk or ride around this area. Fear for relaxation

Fantastic selection of teas , in a glorious old former school house. Pity the lunches were a disappointment- very soggy wraps
